Default Does Zeke deserve an apology from the critics?

Renaldo Balkman has been outplaying everyone that was drafted below him in the first round. I myself never question his game but the pick as a bit of a "reach" that could have been had where they selected Mardy. Does it matter in hindsight now? He has 10pts 11rbs in 18mins vs the Sixers in the first half. Definately an energy, hustler player. And looks to be a solid perimeter defender that can improve and maybe be talked as one of the games best perimeter defenders.

thomas does deserve alot of credit for getting balkman, he is a good player and a great fit for the knicks. mardy collins has also been playing well recently.

I kinda like him. Like his energy, like his dunks and his defense isn't bad.

But boy, everytime he shoots God kills a bird. He seriously needs to learn to shoot.

Isiah has great eye for talent IMO. That never was the problem.

Balkman is even better considering he is listed 6'8, but measured 6'5 at draft camp

He's done a great job of getting talent with late picks. Nate, Lee, Ariza, Balkman, and Collins are all good picks at where they were drafted.

Brown probably would of liked this current team.......

BTW, Marbury scored 18 straight points for the Knicks in the 3rd.

The problem is that Balkman could have been gotten with their 2nd round pick, and they could have had someone like Marcus Williams or Milsap with that other pick.

No, Isiah doesnt deserve incredible retribution or an apology. Larry Brown was an awful coach last year, any other coach who wasnt retarded could have posted a similar record last year as they have this year, especially with the talent the team has.,

Zeke has made stupid moves except for his drafting, and even though he's been a great talent evaluator, he hasn't made the most of his picks, especially since he is such a great draft talent evaluator, and a 2nd round pick to him is worth a lot more than it is to many other teams.

Yup. Isiah>>>draft "experts". He has a knack for finding good players in the draft. Which makes it so strange to me that he can't figure out which free agents are any good. What's the difference?

Because building a team is like putting together a puzzle. He does a poor job getting players that compliment one another, that fit a style, philosophy the team has set. WE all know the kind of guys Larry Browns loves/wants. We all know how he coaches, what he expects/demands. The personnel given to him conflicted that. So i think thats been his pattern...he can find individual talent but he cant put together talent, a team together that fits as one much like a finished puzzle.

Marcus Williams is doing what? And who was screaming Milsap in the first round? He came outta nowhere so you cant use him. He went 47th overall. Guess you thought he went right after Balkman huh? I mean you actually THINK if NYK drafted Milsap instead of Balkman everything would be ok? He'd get bashed just the same as he did for the Balkman pick. Smarten up for me will ya.

The topic is asking does he deserve an apology for the critics blasting him for drafting Renaldo Balkman at 2. Who cares about his resume? One isolated draft pick where he got bashed by the media and fans (me as well). With the play of Balkman and in hindsight do you think the pick was still a reach considering he has outplayed the players who went after him? Or do you still think he was a reach and the players who went after him will blossom down the road making the pick appear to look like a reach?

Simple topic, simple questions...dont try to jam the square peg in the circle shaped hole. Thanks

I don't know how much I buy that theory. Jerome James just sucks, he's not a puzzle piece that doesn't fit. Jared Jeffries isn't particularly talented either. And he greatly goes out of his way to pick up guys like Curry and Crawford and Richardson (overpaying + giving up draft picks). He simply doesn't target the right free agents in the off season.

Curry and Crawford are good players

Zeke doesn't deserve an apology for anything until/unless he gets this team to the playoffs. and even then, he's been in control of the team for 3+ years.
