The thing is, Brady has the same clutch gene.

Yeah, too many youngsters here who never watched Joe play. Those talking about Joe playing in an era where teams stayed together longer, that's true but Joe played in an era where you were allowed to put a hat on a QB. You can't touch a QB nowadays.

Montana was benched in a playoff game for poor play during his prime, btw he never went up against that '85 Bears defense.

Peyton Manning
Brett Favre
Joe Montana
Drew Brees
Barry Sanders
John Elway

Eventually..

JJ Watt
Aaron Rodgers
possibly Adrian Peterson

Are guys who played relatively recently who i'm not sure Tom Brady is flat out better at his position than.

Go ahead and name some superstars from the team.

Montana played all of 6 seasons with Rice; with 1 season being his rookie season, and another being during a strike season - so in essence 4 complete seasons of his "prime".

Montana had amazing talent around him...

1981 49ers - #2 scoring defense
1984 49ers - #1 scoring defense | #3 rushing offense
1988 49ers - #8 scoring defense | #2 rushing offense
1989 49ers - #3 scoring defense | AMAZING Weapons on offense

Those 49ers teams not only had an elite defense, but Roger Craig who was considered one of the top running backs in his day, no doubt Montana had more talent around him than Brady.

Brady always had a nice defense around him when he won a title, but on offense he had no where NEAR the weapons Montana had. In Brady's first 3 super bowls he had no legit #1 WR and very little running game...

2001 Pats - #24 in rushing yards per attempt | Average WRs
2003 Pats - #30 in rushing yards per attempt | Average WRs
2004 Pats - #18 in rushing yards per attempt | Average WRs
2014 Pats - #22 in rushing yards per attempt | above average WRs & an elite TE

So in my assessment I have concluded that during Brady's & Montana's championship years...they both had solid defenses, Montana had a much better running game & more weapons to throw to.

Brady has:
4 super bowl wins, 6 appearances, 8 conference championship appearances, only back to back champion since the elway broncos.

Multiple championships are super tough, in this era of free agency.

Continuity on teams is a huge advantage.

Dodge the question. Name the talent. You named Roger Craig. That's 1. He was very good. Hall of Fame good, but no one puts him in top 10 all time or anything. Go name some other players.

I just showed you that Montana had elite defenses in all of his super bowl wins, one of the best running backs in the league for 3 of them, & the GOAT WR in Jerry Rice for 2, what more do you want?
