1. Should it be who does the most with the least, or simply the coach of the best team? I realize most will say the former, but there are still plenty of people saying Avery or Pop this year, as opposed to a Sam Mitchell.
2. Who should be CotY?
I want to say Jerry Sloan, just because I don't like Mitchell much at all. He's overrated to the bone nowadays, and the Raps are a damn talented team. Skiles is another option, I just love that guy. That's what the Raps need, a hardnosed, strict coach.
1. It should be the guy most responsible for success. heck.. Avery is still benefitting from what Nellie did in dallas. Nellie taught Avery and Avery's assistant coach how to run that team. If Nellie hadn't gotten the Warriors close to the playoffs then I would say it was Van Gundy. But the way Nellie has closed the season there is only one real choice.
2. Don Nelson. No ones even close. The dudes a genius.

Good calls on JVG and Nellie. Especially Jeff considering the injuries they went through. And you can never go wrong with such a defensive minded coach.
And Fatal, if you don't think Mitchell should be even close to your top 5 list, then you should think the same for D'Antoni. That would be a horrible selection, no matter how well the Suns have played this year.
Sloan has been my pick all season long. It's a shame he doesn't have one already. But with the Jazz not playing as well as of late, I think Mitchell does deserve some consideration. Something I never thought I'd say. And even though I'm not a JVG fan, he should get some consideration as well. Though I have to ask was it his coaching as much as Tmac carrying the team while Yao was out.

It was a combination of both really. The Rockets are a great defensive team bc of JVG, and Tmac is capable of taking over a game in the last minutes. I think Sloan should probably get it although his team is slumping at the wrong time.
1. JVG
2. Sloan
3. Avery
4. Mitchell (come on guys, he did at least gel a team with 9 new players and send them to the 3rd seed in the East, that has to count for something)
5. tie between Pop and Nellie
