He didn't have one all-star player on his team...

He is leading a team to the playoffs that hasn't bene there in 12 or 13 seasons..

If he had this team together all season and they had been healthy who knows how many wins he would have gotten..

Sloan, JVG, Pop, or Avery. I would imagine Avery is the frontrunner but JVG would get my vote.

Whether it be Dallas (Avery's team), GSW (Nellie), or Houston (JVG), each one of them team has better inidividual players than Toronto.. and actually much much better. Compare GSW's Baron Davis, Richardson and Harington to Toronto's Bosh, Ford and Anthony Parker.. the former is hands down the better one Presently (not talking of potential). Imma huge Raptor fan... but Bosh aside, the roster is just a bunch of very average players.. the players individually just don't match upto any of the top tier teams... and yet they are close to almost 50 win this season (mostl likely end up with 49).

People make it sound like Colangelo gave Mitchell a bunhc of Kobes and Shaq this year...Mitchell had a very average roster. In fact, some of the key players on the team won't even play in another playoff team. A player like Garbajosa won't be starting on ANY of the 29 teams in the league. How many of the current playoff-bound teams would start players like Rasho and Anthony parker?

End of the year, Mitchell made the team look like something.. but honestly how many of ya'll at the start of the season could have predicted even a 30 wins season.. or even 40 wins.. let alone a 50 win one. And there's every reason why one couldn't forsee those many wins.. the roster just wasn't good enough. That 's why the SI's and the ESPN's had them at #20-25 team to end the season..

The East is a frickin joke though.. you could win 60 games in the East and it doesn't comapre to 50 wins in the west IMO.. The raptors probably wouldn't even be a playoff team in the West..

The Raptors wouldn't be a playoff team in the East either if it weren't for Mitchell coaching. .. atleast not this year. The development took place way too fast. But still as I said, it's not like they have McGrady and Yao or Deron+Boozer+Okur+AK47 either.

Who many teams would start Oberto, B. Berry, Rafer Alston or Chuck Hayes, and they are all on playoff team.

Toronto have 2 starter PG on TJ Ford and Calderon, a All Star Forward on Bosh, and a lot of solid Role player and they play on the East.

Antony Parker will star over B. Berry easily he not that know but he a good solid player 6-6 G-F how score with a High FG% 48% and an excelent 3P shooter 440 % actually 4th in the league.

Oberto would be a starter on Toronto team as well...specially if there be Duncan beside him.. and Alston? yes he did he start in Toronto and Mitchell actually extracted better numbers off him than what Jeff V gunday has this past 2 seasons..

And yes.. Berry may not be an instant starter.. but with backups (in the same position) like Manu Ginobili, Finley and sometimes Horry who fukin cares.

Who starts for Garbajosa in Toronto when he went down.. Joey Graham?? lol.

P.S. Yes.. Finley and Horry do play the 2 and 3 given the situtaion.

Inspite of all that he won't be the 3rd (let alone 2nd) best player on any of the other playoiff-bound teams this year.

Compare Parker to the 2nd best player of any other team..

Detroit - Hamilton
Chicago - Hinrich/Deng
Miami - Shaq
Cleveland - Hughes
Washington - Butler
Jersey - Kidd
Orlando - Hill/Turkoglu

I won't get into the west rosters here.. we have Yao mings and Stoudimires there..

Once again.. Bosh is an excellent ball player.. certainly in the top 10.. but him aside.. there's not really much individual talents or anything close to a stud in the team...and trust me it's not all that deep either. except for the point position. Their 2 won't start on any other team (maybe Charlotte)... their 3 won't start on any other team Peiod (incuding Charlotte and Boston). .. They got a very good 5.. but the first backup is some dude name Kris Humphries.. lol. A decent centre but past his prime.. and cetianly not among the top 10 (or maybe even 15) in the league. And then some rook named Barganani with ZERO D is his backup. Wow .. so much for Hailing Colangelo as a God. Not to take away anything from Colangelo.. but he only gave a respectable roster to Miutchell to work which is certainly better than last year.. but not good enough to guranatee a 3rd seed in the east.. and yet Mitchell acheived that.

Mitchell has alot to work with...considering Miami was injured all year, and no real good teams outside of Detroit in the east, I'm not that surprised to see TO in 3rd...I never liked Sam Mitchell, I think he's a terrible coach...he has no clue what he's talking about in the post game...he has a damn talented team that are starting to live to their potential. In the off-season he got a very nice PG, a 1st round pick and an all-star becoming a superstar...Anthony Parker, Morris Petterson are damn fine players, and the fact the east simply arent that good...47 wins or whatever isn't enough for him to win the COY.

Don Nelson, whatever...he's 40-40...Phil Jackson did better when he had Odom/Kobe out for stretches as well, and Kobe is a hell of alot more important then anything GS has. He did a good job no doubt, give him alot of credit...but putting him over Avery or Sloan is right down laughable.

I can't believe someone showed me a roster of Utah and said "that's a great lineup"...please you say that only because of how they did this season, no one expected that team WITH that same lineup you showed me to even make the playoffs...Sloan did an amazing job, it's him or Avery...right now I'd give it to Avery.

This comment makes no sense.. Phil has Kobe and Odom.. 2 all-star calibre players.. who you say are more important than anything GS has.. yet you give Phil more credit for winning 1 or 2 more games than the GSW.. who have had just as many injuries and have less talent?

How can you not put Nellie over or Jackson? Jackson didn't take a team that had missed the playoffs for 13 seasons to the playoffs for the first time without the "best player in the league".. what Nellie has done is truly incredible.. he had a major trade just recently too.. his team is also playing much much better ball than the Lakers right now too.. they have won like 10 of their last 13 games or something..

Odom is basically Al Harrington though Odom is much more talented...and better too..but not by much.

Warriors have much more talent.
