Default Cho Seung Hui listened to Shinedown excessively

Quote:
SHINEDOWN LYRICS

"45"

Send away for a priceless gift
One not subtle, one not on the list
Send away for a perfect world
One not simply, so absurd
In these times of doing what you're told
Keep these feelings, no one knows
What ever happened to the young man's heart
Swallowed by pain, as he slowly fell apart

And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45,
I'm swimming through the ashes of another life
There's no real reason to accept the way things have changed
Staring down the barrel of a 45

Send a message to the unborn child
Keep your eyes open for a while
In a box high up on the shelf, left for you, no one else
There's a piece of a puzzle known as life
Wrapped in guilt, sealed up tight

What ever happened to the young man's heart
Swallowed by pain, as he slowly fell apart

[CHORUS]

Everyone's pointing their fingers
Always condemning me
And nobody knows what I believe
I believe

[CHORUS]

------------------------------------------

"No More Love"

It's cold outside I'm sensing fear
My self control has disappeared
I'm spinning out at each end
Could you be kind and let me in
Despite the writing on the wall
My future's bleak and rather small
That's all you could ever take from me
I've got nothing to lose so let me be

Well I sized you up your not that strong
You're weak inside I knew all along
This made up army you fight in your head
Destroyed your worth and pronounced you dead

[CHORUS]

There's no more love
There's no more love
There' no more love for me and you (Listen to me)
No more love
There's no more love
There' no more love for me and you (Listen to me)

The cruelest joke that has played on me
Is all planned out so I can't leave
Now quietly I will walk away
There is no bad blood but I can't stay
There is no more love because there is no more love

[CHORUS (2)]

There's no more love
There's no more love
There' no more love for me and you (Listen to me)
No more love
There's no more love
There' no more love for me and you (Listen to me)

-----------------------------------------------------

Fly From The Inside"

Here's the weight of the world on my shoulders
Here's the weight of the world on my shoulders
On my shoulders
All alone I pierce the chain
And on and on the sting remains
And dieing eyes consume me now
The voice inside screams out loud

[Chorus:]
I am focused on what I am after
The key to the next open chapter
Cause I found a way to steal the sun from the sky
Long live that day that I decided to fly from the inside

Every day a new deception
Pick your scene and take direction
And on and on I search to connect
But I don't wear a mask and I have no regrets

I am focused on what I am after
The key to the next open chapter

[Chorus]

I can't escape the pain
I can't control the rage
Sometimes I think that I'm gonna go insane
I'm not against what's right
I'm not for what's wrong
I'm just making my way and I'm gone

Here's the weight of the world on my shoulders

His two roommates say he would write lyrics on the wall at school. And they think he made an imaginary girlfriend. The two also said that he looked into the eyes of a female and he saw she was promiscuous

Great. This means nothing. I listen to violent lyrics, play violent video games, and love Martin Scorsese's movies, as do tens of millions of others. If you have severe personal and mental disorders, you are prone to violent or extreme outbursts. Stop blaming the media*.

*This was not directed at you specifically but society in general.

They were talking about the Collective Soul song "Shine" I believe. I'm pretty sure they said "Collective Soul" but just got the title wrong.

Stop blaming innocent rock bands. It's all Kobe's fault. When Cho wrote about privileged kids' lax morals, he was talking about Kobe, how Kobe raped the white girl but was still allowed to play in the NBA, making moneys, dropping meaningless 50 points to rub it in. So Cho snapped.

Strange too since the song seems pretty positive:

Shine

Give me a word
Give me a sign
Show me where to look
Tell what will I find ( will I find )
Lay me on the ground
Fly me in the sky
Show me where to look
Tell me what will I find ( will I find )

Oh, heaven let your light shine down (x4)

Love is in the water
Love is in the air
Show me where to go
Tell me will love be there ( love be there )
Teach me how to speak
Teach me how to share
Teach me where to go
Tell me will love be there ( love be there )

Oh, heaven let your light shine down (x4)

Im going to let it shine (x2)
Heavens little light gonna shine on me
Yea yea heavens little light gonna shine on me
Its gonna shine, shine on me
Its gonna shine, come on in shine

There's also the song "Mr. Brownstone" by Guns N' Roses that he named one of his plays after. It's got the lyrics

"The show usually starts around seven
We go on stage around nine"

And he started his first shooting at 7 AM and then 2 hours later, went to the engineering building.

Here is the link from the interveiw of his two roommates. A 6:10 they clearly said he listens to a lot of Shinedown.

There is one thing "Mr. Brownstone" the song and this piece of sh*t's play have in common: The title.

The Guns N' Roses song is about doing heroin. The lyrics you posted are about getting stoned before a live show. Trying to find any other comparison is really reaching.

So true man...
This is the same cop out theory as they noted in Columbine with the whole Anti-Mansion protest and what not, and its sad that many media figures substitue music for the actual truth. Chin-ho-eat-a-d*ck or whatever his name is, is a misguided individual with a twisted mind. Any normal functioning mind or human being can distinguish between the lyrics in a vile song and reality,
video game and reality ect....

Its sad but the man went postal because he had a few loose screws too many...

They specifically say "Shine down by Collective Soul".

The song is called Shine though but "shine down" is a lyric in it.

cho's roommates were d-bags. i like how they were smirking the whole time acting like they were some noble people who were just wronged by a weird little asian kid who listened to a song a lot. god forbid you listen to a hot jam a bunch. who doesn't do that? the interview was fishing for media/music to blame with the hobbies/music question.
