I used to play Bulls vs. Lakers a lot.

I fricking LOVED the music from that game. The music on all the menus or whatever. Substitution screens too, maybe. I don't remember exactly where, but it was unbelievable. Everyone had those "trademark shots" where if you shot from a certain part of the floor they did a signature move.

Larry Bird fading away on the baseline three. UTEP Two-Step. Stuff like that.

Fricking awesome game.

The signature shots were sweet. I remember Jordan's scoop reverse layup. Looked so real. It was awesome!!!

Double Dribble kicked ass, I loved that game. NBA Jam was also a classic, I remember our high school had the old arcade version for some reason, and guys used to stay late to play that thing every day. I had all the moves down, we had massive four player games on that old thing, probably kicked holes in the bottom of it from getting too into the game. Our whole basketball team used to challenge each other after practice to games of NBA Jam, those were hard fought and intense, I loved it. Even if you were too tired to walk from running wind sprints, you would pick yourself off the floor to play NBA Jam.

I love how these old games have more toughness in their names then the actual league does right now. If someone came out with a game now called Combat Basketball, Stern would probably fine them for endangering the image of the league.

A little bit. If I were to pop it into my Super NES again though, I'm sure it would all come back to me.

I used to own Bulls vs Lakers...I couldnt be beat. I used the Bulls of course but I figured out ways to stop signature moves. Like Magic Johnson no look, fake pass scoop shot he did in the paint. CAnt describe the move but if you played it you know. I had Bill Cartwright at the right spot and jumped at the right time to block the shyt soon as it went up in the air. Also the utep two step I always drew a charge with. I pretty much couldnt be beat in that game. I used to practice so much I knew where players would be, where to hit shots, how to draw charges, how to switch defenders and trap a player forcing a steal. Me losing a game was rare.

NBA Live 96 is where I feel as tho I was Neo of all bball games. That game was like MJ hitting the game winner in Utah and retiring. Bulls vs Lakers to NBA Live 96 I dominated bball games...hard to believe but I used to play anybody, anywhere. I got so cocky that I stopped practicing and would still crush. Memories indeed.

I never liked NBA Jam...too arcade-ish. Double Dribble was another fun game...you could cut leads instanltly with 3 pt shots. That game is how the Suns draw up plays. Just pass pass pass shoot *sounds of 3 being hit*....pass pass *caption of dunk* They had that Bob Cousy dribble with Hoosier uniforms. Hilarious. No such thing as a low scoring double dribble match.

I didn't really care for Live 96. To me at that point in time, NBA Live '95 was the greatest basketball game ever!! I had it on my PC, and you could turn the resolution on so high that everything was so smooth. I was in basketball heaven.

In Double Dribble that baseline 3-pointer was automatic. It would go in a 99% of the time.

NBA Jam was great if you were in the mood for that kind of thing. I have it on my computer right now. It brings back so many memories of sweaty, stuffy, stinky arcades.

Double Dribble was pretty sweet!! I remember you could automatically shoot 3's in the corner while your guy was jumping out of bounds and it would go in everytime.

Hold up, so the game was just what it is named, Jordan vs Bird, that was it.

Sounds extremely lame. Why would anyone waste time developing a one on one game with only two players to choose from.

I use to have Tecmo Basketball for Nintendo. Freakin awesome game. I remember I would go to my cousin's house and we'd play tournaments for hours. On NBA jam I use to play against my friends dad, and we bet on every game. Every time he beat me. I think I owe him like $200 worth of bets. Thankfully I was a kid and you knwo the saying, "boys will be boys".

Yeah i remember it...it had no replay value after awhile. So it got tossed. It ranks up there with John Elways QB. Play it a few times then its like...ok all done.
