do you honestly think Gasol is a big game player v. other good power forwards in comparison to what Amare has shown. We are talking about the NBA not FIBA(Gasol didnt play in the final).
Amare already gave him 30 a game 2 years ago.
Dirk ate him up when they played in the playoffs as well.

Re: Ford: Suns' big contract shed might be... Amare???
Amare would just owned Pau Gasol if he ever face him in a NBA Playoff. Gasol is a very slow defender and guys can take him up with only 2 dribble and the Spanish Conquistadore just got conquered.
Bulls will not take an unproven talent like Gasol who is a choker in the post season.
Re: Ford: Suns' big contract shed might be... Amare???
Let's Face It.
Amare >> Tyrus Thomas, Loul Deng. Chicago would be stupid not to take that trade, Thomas has a nice upside but nothing like amare. Deng is a nice player but still doesn't equal Amare.
Re: Ford: Suns' big contract shed might be... Amare???
Not really identical. Gasol's much better in bpg and assists.
He turns the ball over less yet he's the first option. He fouls less yet he plays more defense. How about taking those things into consideration?

I wonder if he got the MVP for the Suns v. Grizzlies series in 2005...because he obviously couldnt have been there. I mean Amare dropped 30 a game to a certain someones 18-20.
Gasol in 2006 playoffs 20 points on 43% shooting. While letting Dirk get 27/11 on 47& shooting

Kobe got owned by Iverson statistically in 2001 and by both Billups and Hamilton in 2004.
Shaq last year had worse stats than Krstic.
Re: Ford: Suns' big contract shed might be... Amare???
Where is all this "Gasol is a choker" coming from?
To me it's a feat he's actually led his team to the playoffs those times. He's had some decent players around him at times but never anything too good IMO. Battier, Bonzi, Miller, Jason Williams... do you really expect that team to beat the best teams in the West? Each time in the playoffs his teams have gone up against undoubtedly superior teams and yet Pau still put up 20 and 6 on average with good %'s. His rebounding #'s are down but the rest is still good unless you expect him to be a superstar like Dirk or Duncan (something he's not).
People are acting as if the Bulls were to get Gasol then he would infect the rest of the team with his "unclutchness" because his teams were swept by the Spurs, Suns and Mavs (the best teams in the league). It's retarded.
Re: Ford: Suns' big contract shed might be... Amare???
Pau is NOT better than Amare. All it really takes it look at each's postseason success. Amare is the one you want to have. Avg 37 pts/gm on Tim Duncan, 'nuff said. Hes way more aggressive and comes up big in the clutch. Hes the one you want next to Kobe if thats what we're arguing. Hes a brute force.
I'm not saying Pau is bad, I'd LOVE to have him. But between him and Amare, give me STAT

And I can go on and on and on.
Pau is legit. Period.
Kobe was the #2, and did what was needed to win the sereis. Why have Kobe go off when Shaq is freakin eating Deke and Todd alive.
So you pick out Kobe's worst series ever???? Kid has 3 rings, tons of clutch playoff performances. Pau doesnt even have one series where he didnt get totally oened by the other power forward, Not one time.
