He has a terrible OLINE. One of the worst defenses in the league. Does he even have a run game? Him not winning recently just means he's not one of those QBS who can mask the deficiencies of the team thru the regular season and get them a winning record. That just means he's not Peyotn Manning, Tom Brady. Nothing wrong with that.

Cam is so damn inconsistent. His accuracy regardless of completion percentage is erratic. He's one of the most talented but ultimately inaccurate throwers in the league.

Cam is a good overall QB. I can't prove Matt is better, but i can make a far better argument for him being ranked higher than I could for Newton.

One of the main reasons Matt Ryan has better passing numbers is because of defense. Carolina controls the clock with their defense and run game, which gives Cam less opportunity to throw the ball.

Cam Newton attempted 1923 attempts in 62 games. (31.02 per game)
Matt Ryan attempted 2460 attempts in 64 games. (38.44 per game)

Sure, Roddy isn't what he was in 2012 & 2013; but Smith wasn't that dominant either in those two years. But Julio Jones is a top five receive in football; Cam has never had the luxury of playing with a talent such as that.

Both QB's have had a lousy OL; even with Carolina having Kalil & Gross for 3 of those 4 years, Cam still felt constant pressure because the rest of the line had major holes.

But the main reason I think Cam is better is because of his versatility.
His numbers are pretty similar to Ryan's despite playing on a team that does not rely on passing nearly as much. Their offensive strategy is extremely predictable. Atlanta utilizes Matt's arm a lot more because the team is build for a passing attack; Carolina is build for managing the clock with good defense and running the ball on offense.

Like I said, it's fine if you think Matt is better but it's certainly debatable.
Hope Cam has a healthy season this year; I think he has unlimited potential.

And thanks for actually giving me your reasons as to why you think Matt is better.

Let's just get this out of the way. Matt Ryan has better passing numbers because he's a much better in what makes a passer successful.

I think you are blinded somewhat of Cams natural abaility. The guy hasn't improved since his rookie year. He's still the same erratic, inconsistent an at times spectacular player he has always been.

Peyton was hurt last season at the end of the year and he always chokes in the playoffs anyway. So that is nothing new. I'm not going write him off yet, based on how he played hurt at the end of last season.

When healthy last season, he was still better than anyone other than Brady, Rodgers and Brees. Luck is overrated as hell. He has not done jack yet to be rated so high here.

And Brady is better than Rodgers. Rodgers is absolutely 100% NOT clutch in any way and you CANNOT count on him in big games and important situations. Brady is the most clutch ever. That is an enormous difference, and it's ridiculous that people can't acknowledge that.

It's like a whole thread full of Stephen Asshole Smith wannabees.

Not only that but I don't even think he knows that he's in the minority of people that think Cam Newton is better than Matt Ryan. Also I don't think he realizes that he's in the minority of people that didn't read the original post in this thread

Peyton's days as an elite are over...his arm strength is pure doo doo now and if he gets hobbled at all he will transform into an average QB. Denver missed their window.

let's try this again

1. Brady
2. Rodgers
3. Roethlisberger
4. Romo
5. Rivers
6. Dalton
7. Palmer
8. Brees
9. Wilson
10. Carr

Yeah, good call dipshit.
Cam is 6-0 with only Olsen as his sole target.
The guy virtually does everything for Carolina offensively.

He's also a top 5 MVP candidate.
Matt Ryan is not.

YAWN.

You believe Wilson and Carr are better than Ryan and Newton?
Cam has his team sitting at 6-0, has been doing literally everything offensively. He has been responsible for 85%+ of teams TDs. His best receiver is Ginn, yet Carolina is still respectable offensively.

Ryan has his team at 6-1 right now, although Atlanta's MVPs are Jones and Freeman. They've outperformed Ryan so far, but he's still very much a top 10 QB right now.

1. Rodgers
2. Brady
3. Big Ben
4. Rivers
5. Dalton
6. Newton
7. Romo
8. Ryan
9. Palmer
10. Brees

Saw one Panthers game this year...Newton didn't impress me

I don't view team records when ranking QBs...that is a result of all 53 players and coaches, not just the QB.

all that said...I would have Ryan and Newton at 11 & 12...they are real close

Carr Let's let the guy have more than a handful of decent games first.

You guys notice how Rodgers isn't putting up his typical numbers?
Why? Because Nelson is done for the year!

Cam Newton is the ONLY QB without an elite receiver on that list.

Rodgers - Cobb & Nelson
Brady - Gronk & Edel
Rivers - K. Allen
Romo - Dez Bryant
Palmer - Fitzgerald
Ryan - Julio Jones
Dalton - Green
Brees - Cooks & Sneaks
Big Ben - Brown
Carr - Cooper

Newton - Ted Ginn Jr.

Than shut up and stop making lists.
Cam Newton has had like 4/5 interceptions this season due directly to receivers dropping passes.

and you have watched all games of every other QB?...shut and and stop putting Cam top-10 then

only a Panthers homer would have him where you do...

You have Romo at #4 and he hasn't even played all season.
You of all people calling someone else a homer? That's rich.

Cam Newton was ranked as the 4th best QB by NFL analysts just last week.
He's top 5 in MVP right now.

Yet according to you he isn't a top 10 QB because you watched one Panther game all season.

I don't really care about this whole argument about Cam, but lol at you using Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead as examples Brees' elite recievers.
