Default Are we seeing the end of Peyton Manning?

Towards the end of last season people were saying Manning was pretty much done, some blamed his poor play on an injury he played through, but today vs Baltimore...

24/40 | 175 Yards | 0 TD | 1 INT

I know it's just the first game and people might jump on me for overreacting, but how often do you see Manning in a game where he throws under 200 yards and doesn't throw a TD pass?

It was a tough game. He will iron out the wrinkles. Brady was "done" after KC gane last year according to some overreactionary types. Look how that ended up.

Give Baltimore credit. They're a very good defense.

It's pretty obvious his arm strength will be an issue going forward but if anyone can overcome that to be a very good QB it is him.

His arm strength didn't seem like the issue today, he actually over threw 3 passes. His accuracy was garbage today, he just couldn't hit anything.

He is definitely done in terms of being an elite.

His ceiling is like top-8 or something

Those passes aren't what arm strength is about. It's about fitting the ball in tight windows with zip when needed. It's about zip on the ball on those out patterns. It's not about floating up a pass down the sideline 40 yards.

Those are not arm strength throws.

All he has to be is a good QB if that defense plays like it did today and they're superbowl contenders. That's all that matters really.

Brady had 2 good games before that KC game, people were just calling for his head because the Pats were off to a 2-2 start.

Manning on the other hand has looked way off since late last season. His last 5 games of 2014 he had a QB rating of 79. And I'm not even including his playoff game vs the Colts and his performance today. He looks WAY off to me.

That said, his arm strength could be shot and the reason he was so un-accurate today was because he was overcompensating, which greatly decreases accuracy.

He is 39 with multiple neck surgeries, everything comes to an end at some point.

He looked really bad to me today... If he continues to play like this gotta wonder if the Broncos will think about shutting him down

I've said it for awhile that he doesn't have any accuracy on the deep ball anymore.

Anyone who's watched him play over the past 1-2 years knows he's not the same QB he used to be. He hasn't had the zip on his throws for a while now and alot of his success comes from what he does best which is his pre-snap reading of defenses. He knows where to go before the ball before the snap and he's like a well oiled machine.

That being said I still think he'll have a good season. I don't think he's any different than he was last year and he'll be more of a game manager.

Good defense, new conservative offense, lost J. Thomas. Not really surprising to see him struggling a bit. He is definitely trending downwards but he will still have some great games.

The difference is that Brady hadn't had all this arm-weakening neck surgery. Manning is at a retirement age and his play in the second half of last season was definitely worse than how he started the year. He's still starting caliber but he definitely is declining.

Lol obv we are seeing the end. As a broncos fan i see this being his last season. This team is extremly lucky that the defense is on the level they are at. I put 20 on the broncos winning the superbowl in vegas this weekend.....kinda regretting that bet after the first game ha

He's done being dominant. And Kubiak's shitty and exposed system will make sure of it.
