Default No mention of Smush?

There you have it. You all got your wish. No Smush.

The Lakers plaxed horrible and yet Smush barely seen the floor.

What do you got to say now?

Maybe you can admit that the Lakers problems go way beyond just Smush and that you were only using him as a scapegoat? Maybe, just maybe that's the case?

It most definitely is.

Smush was a weak link all year and you are only as strong as your

So long Smush, have a nice life!!!

When we started the second quarter with the score 25 - 31 and when he left at about the 8 minute mark the score was 31 - 42. So Smush in, Lakers down by 6. Smush out, Lakers down by 11.

If he is a good player as he sees himself, he was supposed to do better job than this. He's waaaaaaaaaay worse than a rookie. Smush sucks !

But this time I don't blame him, I blame PJ.

What on earth, you can change 4 of 5 starters ? And you put Cook and Smush together on court ? How many times we saw this, it doesn't work. And it didn't work work one more time. Because there is no such possibility. Simple !

We were fighting (barely) in 1st quarter, PJ made a suicide act, he became successful, Suns got enough gap, gained confidence ... end of the story.

when Smush gets in
Barbosa goes on fire

only this time the fire got so big, the whole team broke down

really, don't ever put that kid in please
yes I did see him offesnively taking it to the hole
but the guy on the defensive end is being schooled badly

Sailor,

This is something me and another poster have discussed. You brought up a point saying Phil keeps putting Smush and Cook.

In case you didn't notice, Phil is sending a message to management that they better get Kobe some real help soon. So what he is doing is showing what our team looks like. He's revealing the truth to the management.

Good teams don't have these kinds of players on them.

That's what I was hoping in regular season. It's typical PJ.
If he does that in 4th quarter, when we are 20 down, it's again fine.

But why in 2nd quarter ??????????

If we played with tall guys, secure the paint area, Kobe would shoot better and we wouldn't be beaten like this.

Ok we may not win the game, but we wouldn't be sooo embarrassed. I can't talk for all but at least, I feel like that.

Well because if we wait till the very end to put those guys in it wouldn't matter to management.
It's smart what Phil is doing because who else is gonna replace our starters except for these two?

All we have is smush and Cook on the bench. Who else is going to come off the bench and contribute? Just ronny and a few other select guys.

The point is if we lose by big margins like this, that's when management will stop with the mindset of "if we are healthy we will win". It goes beyond health. Our problem is players. once again it wouldn't matter to management if phil did this in the fourth quarter.

soccer, why do you have to take that attitude? that's what keeps getting all your aliases banned. I really believe if you check that, you will stop getting banned.

I don't think many posters here were using Smush as a "scapegoat". rather, singled him out as clearly the weakest link. No one said he was the ONLY problem, but certainly the biggest.

That's it, inconcistency. Smush has many skills, he can score,
and has made some steals when it counted. But he tries for
those steals way too often and lets guys by him giving open looks
for opponenets. Our D sux when he does this.....

Fish used to play tenacious D every time. If Smush brought it
like Fish every night, he'd be rewarded with huge bucks and the
fame he thinks he deserves now........ He is our weakest link!!

DO NOT RE-SIGN HIM!!! I don't care how cheap he is.....

But what he's saying is even with our biggest problem on the bench. We lost by 30...i know it was 28 but might as well be thirty.

I don't see any guards that play perfect D anymore. We simply don't rotate to the right opponent.

It's either both of our players rotate to the same guy leaving the other one wide open, or we just can't stay in front of our defenders.

It's apparent that noone talks to each other on defense. I see every other team in the league talking to each other on D and making correct rotations except for ours.

We're too caught up in learning this triangle sh!t. We need to play defense, then get the fukc out there and run our asses, because the triangle has lost its flavor in this league and I don't give a flying ass fukc what you guys think about what I just said.

The triangle offense that the lakers supposedly run has no spacing whatsoever causing a lot of confusion on passes and therefore making us one of the worst team in turnovers if not the last. Forget it...in this generation, Running has proven to be successful after playing defense. Defense and running and high tempo offenses are what make teams go far.

Detroit and San Antonio began running a little and they're top teams.

Im gonna say it again, the triangle doesn't work and it's lost it's flavor.
