They're not even getting back to the Finals. Love will become lost again once Kyrie returns. The Bulls will take them down.

One regular season loss and you have already given up on hope that the Heat can beat the Cavs?

How many times are we going to hear this?

Once they're beaten this post was never made, right? And no credit to LeBron even though you have the Bulls as favorites, right?

Like in game 1 when Lebron took 38 shots?

People saying that the Cavs were better off sans two All-Stars in Kyrie & Love in the Finals are delusional. Cleveland had 5.5 legit NBA rotation guys in that series after Kyrie got hurt (I only count Delly as 1/2 since he's more of a 3rd stringer to me than a legit back up PG). You don't think LeBron would have welcomed another perimeter ball handler in Irving or a really skilled offensive player in Love? LBJ's minutes skyrocketed because they basically had no other substitute for handling the rock.

When GSW went super small, LBJ was the only guy capable of taking advantage of a double team in the post. Mozgov can't pass out of a double and if LBJ can't both be the post-up threat and perimeter threat at the same time. GSW would have had one of Barnes/Iggy/Dray guarding Love and Mozgov/TT. They wouldn't be able to harass the bigs as easily. Not to mention Kyrie was poised to continue putting pressure on GSW's defense. They had trouble guarding him in Game 1. That would have continued.

The Kyrie/LBJ/Love/Mozgov 4-man group was something like 34-3 in their last 37 games together or some crazy stat. They won consistently against the West, too. I fully believe that team would have won the Finals if healthy.

Golden State was a heck of a ball team last year- historically great imo. However, the Cavs had a grouping that could beat anybody. The fact that they outworked Dubs and won 2 games is surprising. That was a pathetic supporting cast due to the lack of depth once Kyrie got injured. I mean when Delly/JR/Shump/Miller is your guard rotation, you should lose the series. We got robbed of an epic Finals due to the Cavs injuries. Heck, a grudge match series would be epic imo this season.

I expect a (healthy) Cavs team to be a real threat in the Finals this year. I think Love will be much better utilized- LBJ is incentivized to actually play to his strengths since he's running out of time to win another ring. Plus, the WC is still a bloodbath for whomever escapes.

32-3 together. But there's this myth about them not having chemistry.

I can't wait until February.

Do you really think the current Cavs team is better than the 2013 Heat? That was an all-time great team when healthy. If not for some injury issues early in the season they would have likely won 70+ games.

How was that 2013 Heat supporting cast once the playoffs began?

Lebron was better in 2013, but his current Cavs supporting cast is the best he's ever had. The 2013 Heat were just a 2 man show, and as soon as Wade got hurt before the playoffs we saw how flawed that team really was.

First of all, Delly and Tristan would have been playing in the series regardless of what was going on with Kyrie/Love. Besides the obvious fact that Kyrie and Love are far better players, where the "replacement theory" really fails is in the idea that TT/Delly wouldn't have been playing with those guys healthy.

They played a lot of minutes all year long. It's just that, with Kyrie and Love, TT and particularly Delly wouldn't have been a ghost of themselves via over-use by the fourth game. Delly was basically done after the third game, and who could blame him? You have a guy who was accustomed to playing 10-20 minutes a game suddenly being asked to play 35+ minutes a night with essentially no backup.

The Warriors won that series primarily with their depth. And, wouldn't you know it, that's what normally make guys like Tristan and Delly so good, when they're coming off the bench with high energy in manageable minutes.

And, Kyrie was fine defensively in Game 1 and really throughout the playoffs. It wasn't an issue. When he is locked in and focused, he is a perfectly serviceable NBA defender. And, one of the best offensive players in the league.

Just stop it.
