Default JNo, best corner on the planet.

Week 8
TY Hilton - 1 rec, 15 yards [86.57 YPG]
83% below season average

Week 7
J. Matthews - 3 rec, 14 yards [64 YPG]
78% below season average

Week 6
D. Baldwin - 3 rec, 23 yards [46.0 YPG]
50% below season average

Week 4
M. Evans - 3 rec, 32 yards (2 INTs, pick 6) [70.8 YPG]
55% below season average

Week 3
B. Cooks - 2 rec, 19 yards (Game Saving INT) [64.71 YPG]
71% below season average

Week 2
D. Hopkins - 5 rec, 53 yards [116.7 YPG]
55% below season average

Week 1
A. Robinson - 1 rec, 27 yards [93.2 YPG]
71% below season average

- In bold, are the yards each of those receivers averaged per game against all other teams this season.

Norman has yet to allow a touchdown.
Those last 4 weeks though, .

28 TKL, 12 PD, 4 INT, 2 TDs, 1 FF
Both a play-maker and a shut down corner.
No one even throws his way anymore and when they do, it's almost never more than 10 yards.

He has faced the following receivers so far:

Hopkins - 2nd in yards
Hilton - 13th in yards
Cooks - 23rd in yards
Robinson - 15th in yards
Matthews - 38th in yards
Evans - 40th in yards

That gorgeous superman dive to deflect a pass last night, work of art.

Hmmm... Like seeing breakdowns like this.

He just plays a side though right? They don't him him shadowing #1s do they? He hasn't even played a full season yet.

It looks like some games he does, some he doesn't. Sometimes they tell him not to play slot.

I'm reading Seattle didn't throw his way once, so those 3 Baldwin catches not him. No need to shadow Baldwin.

So those numbers you have shouldn't really be seen as all balls thrown at Norman.

He plays #1 receivers every game.
He switches from left to right.

For instance, last night he was shadowing wherever Hilton went.

One of Norman's pass deflection on a long bomb to Hilton.
I don't think he was targeted more than 5 times last night.

I watched all 7 Panther games.

Against Seattle, Carolina played zone a lot (because of Graham's ability and size) and I saw Norman blitz a few times. Who cares about Seattle? Look at what he did to Evans, Hopkins & Hilton. Those are elite receivers and he was on them all game long.

Go re-watch the game.
He was on Robinson in week 1 too, result? 1 reception all game.

Not every game

PFF breakdown

He allowed 17 catches on 37 targets entering last night's game.

Ha, you actually have 17 catches going into last night in the OP but it is coincidence. Seattle didn't throw his way once and Vincent Jackson had two catches on him.

Well, the receivers he faced caught a total of 18 passes all season, so it's not like my numbers are off by much.

I know for a fact his assignments were to cover Hopkins, Evans & Hilton. Bene or Tillman were guarding the opposite end.

Sure sometimes he switches but not often.
Last night he was completely shadowing Hilton, just like he did to Hopkins and Evans.

17 for 37 is impressive as hell.

According to my numbers, he's given up 183 total yards so far passing.
Take away last nights game (15 yards) and Seattle's game (23 yards) and you have 145 yards.

The link you posted states 127 total yards; which only solidifies my case for JNo.

Ignore the coverage ratios; he's the best at that so far this year.
He's also a play-maker. 2 x Pick 6, 4 x INT, FF, FR, 28 tackles.
Has incredible ability to return picks for good yardage.

Week 1, Pick 6 Vs Jaguars

Game Saving Interception Versus New Orleans

Pick 6 Vs Tampa Bay

Highlights Versus Colts, week 8

Some of his highlights

That recovery when Hilton beat him deep late in the 4th was amazing great player.

No one's throwing his way anymore, he's in absolute shut down mode.
