Default Joe Thomas to Denver

for Denver's 1st and 2nd round picks in 2016

Denver gets Cleveland's 4th though

Denver just lost they tackle they had playing behind Clady for the year...they had no tackle really until now

Hopefully Carolina can get an elite receiver before the deadline.

Not sure this trade actually went through...it is clear they were scrambling to get it done though

Denver clearly needed a LT they were on their 4th string guy I think.

Steep price but Thomas is arguably the best LT in the league right now.

wow....wtf i hope this went through.......

Our line has been our biggest issue this year (besides mannings arm)

This is huge if this deal was made

Yeah. With our defense we need to go all in for a super bowl. Would be massive to upgrade the line this much.

Looks like they failed to get this in on time...

Why did they need to wait until the very last minute to start moving on this? It's like me in high school rushing to get homework finished right before class starts.

did a little digging.....

I guess a few months ago Denver offered up their 1st round pick, but Browns countered with 1st round pick AND Shaq Barrett, which the broncos wisely said no.

Browns probably came back to negotiate, and by the time they got it squared away it was too late....

Seems to be a trend with the broncos, remember the Elvis Dumervil incident a few years ago?

I think it's probably best thing for Denver that it didn't go through. Can't mortgage the future like that.

Yea no doubt.

That's steep.

I would have loved to get him too. But not for that.

Cleveland said it would have to be a juicy offer. That sure is.

I had mixed feelings on this. Obviously, for where the Browns' franchise is and where Thomas is in terms of his career arc, it doesn't seem like we're ever going to fully take advantage of his greatness. Still, there is a part of me that wants to see him retire in a Browns uniform because he is such a great player and standup guy who never complained despite such sh!tty teams. He's a HOFer and I want to see him go in as a Brown.

At the same time, this is more than I expected and I would be really happy for Joe to be on a legitimate SB contender. I'd immediately be pulling for Denver to win the whole thing.

Hmm.

Joe actually seems like a really stand up guy.........he was quoted to saying he didnt want to leave the browns because he is not a quitter........woulda been nice to have have a guy like that in the locker room
