I'm going to get this in just before the game starts and please note that I have been one of Manziel's greatest detractors. I didn't want the Browns to take him and I've said time and again I don't think he is cut out for the NFL.
That being said, I think he will look like a competent QB tonight. Just a feeling. He has looked pretty good in the rare occasion he has played this year and it always feels like the Browns play the Bengals close.
I'm not saying we're going to win. I do think it will likely be closer than most think. One of the big hits for the Browns is not having Joe Haden active, though. He always plays AJ Green very well and has probably gotten the better of him more times than not over the course of their careers.
On the bright side, Tayshaun Gipson is playing and I feel like he is one of the best young safeties in the league.
What's so good about Cleveland's oline? Just saw PFF's ranking and they have the Browns 2nd
Just looked at their line stats and they have given up the 5th most sacks, 2nd most qb hits, about as many negative plays as any team in the league outside the tackle.
I don't get how that works.
Because sacks and QB hits have as much to do with the QB and the play-calling as they do the line. Sacks and QB hits can also be a result of an overload blitz where they have more guys than you can block and also RB's and TEs can be beaten for sacks/QB hits which have nothing to do with the 5 OLineman.
