Default Frustration...

I love watching basketball, favorite time of the year is the time of the playoffs for me. So much energy and passion.

Currently Lakers are struggling but what gets me is the approach they're taking. Its opposite of everything we ever represented and everything I ever enjoyed seeing. Intensity, swagger, emotion are non existent. Every other team is playing with so much passion..look at the Warriors and Bulls. Beautiful basketball.

Unfortunately, this is what the Lakers have become. Only 3 years removed from an era where LA dominated the league. All those teams that used to be roadkill for us have leapfrogged us and we've been reduced to a lineup full of one dimensional heartless low IQ defenseless scrubs led by the by the best player in the world. Somewhere in the middle something was lost...a franchise that has been so determined to win is now focused on money and family matters. This isn't about losing Shaq, management could have got BIG TIME talent in the Shaq trade. We had Kobe (a 26 yr old phenom on the brink of entering his prime) and Shaq (the most valuable trade asset in the league) and management somehow came away with no all stars and a 15 mil piece of crap (Grant). Then somehow they traded a future all star for Kwame Brown and wasted MLEs on Mckie, Divac, Radman. Proceeded to sign an NBDL player in Smush. Signed extensions to Cook, Sasha and Kwame.

And there you have it...a roster full of heartless players. Players who play for themselves. Players who are more focused on their next contract than winning the game.

And this is is only a portion of it. Three yrs ago, management had its eye set on this summer to have enough money to get us a bigtime player, was known as the "07 plan". They even refused to give Antonio Daniels 3 yrs instead of 2 so they can have money for this summer (who would have been a great PG for us btw). Then somehow they change their mind and sign Cook and Kwame to an extension, sign Radmonvic to 5 yrs and thus "screwing the 07 plan".

The only thing stopping us from being the laughing stock of the league is Kobe. The Lakers are leading the league in road attendance and TV ratings because of Kobe. And it boggles my mind how the organization just sits there as if thats all that matters.

Oh well, thats all history but what now? what happens now? How long will this continue. We have assets to get a big name player and many have expressed their interest in playing here...JO, Kidd most recently.

I am so frustrated having the best player in the league, a HOF coach and having to sit here wondering if the team is gonna try to play defense? Do you hear that? We've been reduced to hoping that the team tries to play defense.

Honestly I think we made a mistake in trading with the heat. I think we should have trade with the other team in Florida, Orlando and swapped picks with them and taken on Grants deal and some throw ins here and there. That woulda been sweet to have Dwight and grand in the purple and gold.

Or Shaq to Phoenix, or Sacramento...We would have been better off!!!!

We could have gotten Amare!

I dont feel the Lakers have any of those things I said in my great quote of the day, they need it all, but until that I dont see this team going far.

Feeling you.

Speaking of frustration, what makes me most frustrated are those claims that Kobe's to blame because he makes players worse, like Odom for example and then they say he'd do the same to Brand and other players.

I don't know why but that really ticks me off.

As for the organization...oh well, they're a joke. No news there.

I don't think they even have a plan, they're probably worse than fans.
3 weeks ago Jimbo says we're contenders, 3 days ago, he said we won't be mediocre for that.

Yeah, quite leaders we got there. And Mitch is just a terrible GM.

Remember he wouldnt of gone to any of those teams it was either a Texas or Florida team and the Lakers didnt want to deal him to the west coast unless we got Yao or Dirk, so it was basically Orlando or Miami. You know what now that I think of it we probably could of gotten T-mac alon with that pick instead of Grant, cause that's when they were shopping him around at the time.
