Default Bonzi....????

Hey I was wondering what you guys would think if the Rockets got Bonzi Wells. He is a big, athletic SG and the Rockets need size at the 2. I was wondering what our chances of getting him with the MLE are. Last year when Stomile Swift's value was high he took the Rockets MLE even though it was worth less than his projected value. I imagine Bonzi would envy the chance to play with T-mac and Yao.

What do you guys think?

I wouldn't mind having bonzi, but I'm pretty sure he won't take our mle. Plus, it makes a little bit of a logjam at the 2/3 spot with mcgrady, battier and bonzi. plus, i think if we re-sign kieth bogans and move tracey to the starting 2, then we're pertty well set there. tracey swings to the 3 when shane sits.

I doubt Bonzi will come here. He seems to be the type of player that wants to be the "star". That won't happen in Houston w/ Yao and T-Mac. However the way things are going so far this offseason in the free agent market, if Wells doesn't get something done soon he could be a real steal.

i dont think Bonzi Wells will come to houston because Jeff Van Gundy usually only trades for stars or defensive players. Bonzi Wells is not a defensive player.

Besides Mike James, whom I really don't like anyways, what solid free agents are available for the Rockets to pick up? Oh yeah one more thing, that israeli guy the Rockets drafted, is he staying oversees or coming over this year?

Rockets are royally f*cked from that Rudy Gay trade. We lost our only trade bait (Stro) in that deal. Aside from Mike James, who'd really like to come home, I dunno what other big name FA will take our MLE.

They got Darius Washington playing in the summer league. Wilcox is also supposedly giving the Sonics problems about resigning. Supposedly JVG still has a flame for Scott Padgett.

Especially with Battier and TMac filling the 2-3 spot already.
