It's all tongue in cheek - I thought you knew what I did and would see the irony.

Truth be told, when I finish my doctorate and get my entry level job teaching at a college, I'll have to take a small pay cut from the day job I currently hold (office job which I'm not sure requires a college degree at all). Not exactly what you dream of after a 200k education, but it puts the value (to employers) of such a specialty education in perspective.

Boston is a college town. Plenty of schools clustered in a relatively small area.
