What does everyone think about Darko's trade value after a fine performance off the bench against the Pistons?
I would say his trade value has pretty much skyrocketed, and since he is going to be a restricted free-agent this upcoming offseason, the Magic should be looking to shop him for a draft pick maybe.
He was pretty amazing during the playoffs, but when you look at the regular season. Consistency seems to be hard to come across this Darko. He's value has risen quiet a bit from the playoffs, but i think Orlando will probably blow some pretty big money on him this offseason.
I think its a pretty bad move, we could be left with a bust for then next few seasons. But looking at the possible potential, they sky's the limit.
I wouldn't mind shopping him for a nice high pick, but in this years DEEP draft. Many team i dont think would be willing to give up on possible studs.
Another option is to shop him for a nice PG, someone like Steve Blake. Who i think would be great running at point guard. He's a great distributer, and has great court vision, he could give Dwight which is something we could really use with.
Maybe even package Darko for Rashard Lewis? He's most probably out, and we could use a good scorer along side Dwight. He's relatively young, and i think can still grow a little.
Those are just a few options we can consider. But now with the possible departure of Jameer, we could use a good PG because i dont wanna see Arroyo or Keyon starting.
I havent watched darko nearly as much as the fans of the magic in the orlando area. However from what I have seen he might become a poor mans Mehmet Okur.
His value skyrocketed is a reach for sure! But his value has increased from such a meh season of inconsistency... He had the starting position once Battie went out but did nothing to secure it. To me thats the real value there!

Cause he's white and European? That's about the only similarity I see between them.
Darkos value is hard to judge; he's proven that he's able to play, but he's also yet to show his true (assessed) potential. So while his value is rising on the one hand, his value is also dropping. If you get my meaning.
Darko's pretty tall, but I never thought of him as a tower.
Maybe a coat rack.
That was my impression the first time I saw him... but he is bit more dynamic. I think he will improve this year and maybe reach a level more adequate for a 2nd draft pick.
