Because not many centers become stars, and most arent marketable, but thats far off the topic isnt it? Were talking about who would you rather have to build your team around, center of guard.

you think Bol and Bradley were good centers... good centers are Yao, Dampier, Shaq, Amare (if ya wanna call him one), Ben Wallace and those types of players...i'm sayin who would you want as a GM...

Its kinda like asking, should Houston have drafted Jordan instead of Olajuwon?

Sure now that we look back at it, anyone would have drafted Jordan before Hakeem, but at the time Olajuwon was the logical pick on paper. Early in Hakeem's career in the league, he led Houston to the Finals. It took Jordan a few more years to do so, and we already know what he did.

I just feel sorry for Portland because they drafted Sam Bowie, the biggest bust of the decade. Injuries killed his career and he was never the same.

was Bowie the logical pick too... you can say all you want but no one predicted Michael Jordan would become the MICHAEL JORDAN..no doubt he was a good player but no one knew he'd become the greatest of all time...

Jordan, Kobe and Lebron aren't small. They are avg by NBA standards.

If you are putting in that sense who the hell wouldn't want to super skilled plus avg sized.

Small with elite skills is 6' and under. Guys like Isiah Thomas, AI, Tiny Archibald, Kevin Johnson, Tim Hardaway, etc.

Yes, he was Bowie was a great college player. Plus Portland already had a very good player at the 2 in Clyde Drexler, who they just drafted the year before. Hindsight is always 20/20. You're right people knew MJ would be good to very good. No one had a clue that he would be arguably the best ever.

They had a show a few weeks ago called "The Top 5 Reasons you can't blame Portland for taking Bowie over MJ" where they broke it down. I think it was on Fox Sports or maybe ESPN classic. If you get a chance to catch it on a rerun its good watching.

Tall, no skills, getting cracked in the mouth by Walt Williams and bodyslammed by Mark Davis. I think Bradley is more a of a ***** than a basketball player.
