Senn 598s are down to 145 on Amazon. Must be a new model coming soon. I still use the older 595s. Had them for 6 years and do not regret it.

@lakers, these would be perfect for r6.

i have this headset. great sound quality for the price but my stupid noggin is too big for them to fit comfortably for any long period of time.

Usually you can get away with just the headphones, but it's recommended that you have a decent DAC and a headphone amp to properly drive some of the nicer pairs due to their resistance.

I use a Schiit Modi USB DAC into a Little Dot MK III Tube Pre-Amplifier.
