Default Its Official Spiderman Is Not Done Yet!!!

Quote:
Spider-Man will return for at least three more movies, its studio has said after the super-hero's third film broke North American box office records.

Sony Pictures chief executive Michael Lynton told the BBC: "Everybody has every intention of making a fourth, a fifth and a sixth and on and on."

There would be "as many as we can make good stories for", he pledged.

Spider-Man 3 is now the most successful new release in history, making $148m (74m) in its opening weekend.

That beat the previous best of $136m (68m) set by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest last year.

When everybody comes up for air, we can think about how to make the next one
Michael Lynton
Sony Pictures chief executive
Mr Lynton told the BBC News website the figures "way exceed our expectations".

He was "really over the moon" that it had done better than the first two instalments in the Spider-Man series, he said.

"I think it had a lot to do with timing - the fact we were the first out in the summer.

"I think it had to do with the fact that the movie had a universal appeal, it had a broader appeal than the second movie, it attracted a family audience and brought the family audience back.

"There were many factors that contributed to it, and there's a part that you just put down to 'I don't know'."

There has been much speculation about the big screen super-hero's future, but Mr Lynton said the weekend figures gave them a major reason to keep the franchise alive.

"Everybody's been so busy trying to get this one out that that's been the focus," he said. "When everybody comes up for air, we can think about how to make the next one."

The third Spider-Man film sees Peter Parker, played by Tobey Maguire, battle the darker side of his personality and try to hold on to his love interest Mary Jane Watson, played by Kirsten Dunst.

It may have received an enthusiastic reception from fans - but the critical response was less than glowing.

The spiderman 4 villiams have been somewhat released,

Quote:
That went fast... Not days from the premiere of Spider-Man 3 and we already know who will become the next installment's villains through freezedriedmovies.

Spider-Man is one of the few movies that you actually care more about the villains than the hero himself. Let's face it - they're really cool. Good villains can make a good movie great, unless it's called Spider-Man 3, cause then there's no cure. For more info read my review of it.

So who will these villains be then? The short version: CARNAGE and LIZARD.

The longer version: If you've seen Spider-Man 3, you'll know that Dr. Curt Connors had a small piece of the black symbiote that Peter brought him to examine. The rest of it became Venom, who ultimately died (at least that's what they made us believe) at the end of the movie. However, that small piece will find its way to Cletus Kasady, a cold-blooded serial killer, and become Carnage.

As for the Lizard, as you can see in the picture as well, it has a doctor's robe. That's because Dr. Curt Connors, mentioned above, will be that villain himself.

Directors usually make 10-20% of the movie's gross aside from their initial salary. ~$375,000,000 internationally the first weekend? Sam Raimi's rolling in the dough right now.

I wonder if the actors get there normal paid salary and a cut of what ther movies gross is? That would mean big dough for Tobey because I heard for this movie he is gettin 20-25 million and will only get more with each movie.

It definitely does happen, I'm not sure in this case though. Actors will sometimes take a pay cut in actual salary for a larger percentage, Bruce Willis supposedly took a large salary cut in Sixth Sense, but made ~$100,000,000 from his large percentage cut. $20,000,000 up front would suit me just fine though.

Maguire is already 32 I believe, he can't be playing mid 20's Peter Parker forever.

and the fact that they are running out of villians....i didn't even know who the hell "sand man" was before this movie....
