Bryant isn't getting any younger. With all the Lakers' long playoff runs
earlier in his career, he has logged a total of 33,464 minutes. By
comparison, when Michael Jordan turned 29, he had played 24,483 minutes.
Jordan wasn't making much money for most of his career. It's partly why the Bulls were able to build around him so easily. Most of his money was made in endorsements.
Why the HELL was Michael jordan making $3.8 million in 1996????
He chose to so the Bulls had cap flexibility. His ridiculous salary for the last two years was the organization's payback. That's why I made the comment that Kobe should have done the same thing since Lakers were in a rebuilding phase.

Kobe won three titles with Shaq. He may have "f'd" the opportunity to win more, or it may have been a combination of the two (Kobe and Shaq), but they won three titles together nonetheless.
I think Skywalker was trying to say that he f'd up the opportunity to win more titles and that KG wouldn't have started the whole "I'm tired of being a sidekick" bullsh*t. Kobe got what he wanted though, he's no longer a sidekick.......or a winner.
Why doesn't Phil just build the same kind of team he head in Chi. Get a good all-around player like he had in Pippen to play with Kobe, a decent 3rd scorer like he had with Kukoc, and 1 or 2 guys for defense and rebounding along with some consistent role players. That's the HEat's problem. The role players are too inconsistent. That being said, I'm almost kinda tired of Kobe.

Yeah, I knew what he meant but wasn't sure if he remembered I guess. But you're right, he hasn't proven that he's a winner. However, you never know how KG would have acted in that situation. Sure, we can guess based on his persona now. If Kobe hadn't played with Shaq and wound up playing in Charlotte for three or four years, he would have been a different person. Same can be said about others, you know? We can guess but we'll never know (or do you know?) for sure.
Does anyone else think it's classless that a guy who went 5-17 from the field for 16 points and had 4 TO's and 1 technical foul in the second half of game 5 has the nerve to call out his teammates so vocally and say absolutely nothing about his own poor play, even a "I wasn't shooting the ball particularly well tonight, which didn't help"?
Typical Kobe. It's always everyone else's fault. Not to say that his team didn't play poorly as well, because they did (aside from Odom), but still -- leaders don't call guys out on the carpet when they themselves aren't pulling their weight. Kobe acts like he had a legendary series when in fact he had a poor one.
He's a spoiled, petulant brat who deserves to wallow in mediocrity for many more years.

Loki, he didn't individually call anyone out. He asked for more help, whats the harm in that His frustration began before the playoffs even started but it would be stupid talking about it then. He mentioned h@ting to have to score 50 at times in order to win at times. You could see his frustration build up as the season went..same thing with Phil. Don't tell me you wouldn't be upset getting it done every night and then having teammates like Cook, Smush, Sasha, Kwame **** it all up
Hes not the first one to do it..in fact I remember reading a quote by Jordan saying "get me some teammates"
Even though he didn't actually call his teamates out, being so vocal about how the team needs to make changes (and letting the press know about it too) is an indirect way of calling his teamates out. Much like saying "I'm tired of being a sidekick" is an inderect way of telling management 'it's me or Shaq' without actually making the ultimatum.
Oh please Loki. Your hate's been pretty annoying lately.. At least you've been sorta undercover in the past, straight on the point but without the hateful stuff.
Kobe's been carrying them for 2 years now, dude gave his all night in and night out.
He's not calling out the players, he's calling out the management.
He has actually praised the players.
And besides, didn't Jordan kinda do the same thing? They too asked him why he doesn't make his teammates better and he said something like gimme better players like Worthy and Kareem.
Please Loki, you're turning into Knoe. At least keep your hate civil.
