I'm 6,2, my mum is about 5,2. I sorta tower over her. I can't dunk though, I can grab onto the rim, if I could get a couple inches higher, i'd be able to get in in.
Dang if I was your height, I'd be dunking with ease.

I'm 6'1. Could dunk when I was younger. Not any more.
My roommate is 6"8 and has never been able to dunk.
Most people who are that tall and had not been exposed to basketball at an early age can barely walk without tripping.
Not only that but during massive growth spurts you have to practise basketball like crazy to offset the fact that every other week you gotta change your shot because you're an inch taller.
But yeah, if I was 6'8 but had my current hops and hoops ability, I'd be tearing rims off.

He was always very tall and played basketball at a very early age. Just never had the desire to get any better. Kinda of a artsy kid(not gay).
In conclusion he is a waste of a tall human being.
I know alot of 6'0-6'2 guys that can get rim but not dunk. If i was 6'0-6'2 i would be out there everyday trying to dunk it, building up muscle. I'm 5'9 so at my height it's a REAL long shot.
I first dunked at 5'11"
I could dunk until the day I screwed my knee. That day it felt a little weird but I kept playing.... dumbass.
Now 6'4" and probably wont dunk again.
By the way statman, get into chat at HH, and I edited your pic in the Photo Album thread.

Anybody that likes Hall and Oates can't dunk. It's scientifically proven

Man how can I get that few extra inches I need to get dunking. I'm 5'7 1/2" like I said earlier, and I'm just like 1 inch from touching the rim. I want to be able to dunk it though, so what can I do to give me those extra inches, any advice?

If you are around 6'0-6'2 (and white) the biggest question is whether you:
a) have long arms
b) can palm the ball
I have long arms and can palm the ball. As for my vert, it was never good. 32-33 inches. I know some guys the same height with better verticals who never could dunk due to their inability to hold onto the ball in mid-air. They could dunk a volleyball with ease. But never a basketball.
