I imagine we'll see Collinsworth at some point too.

Apparently the Jazz are trying to turn Quin Snyder into their new Jerry Sloan. I personally am a huge fan of Quin, and am stoked to see what he does in the future. I expect a top-4 seed next year though, only the Warriors and Spurs are practically guaranteed HCA, the Clips and Thunder have a future full of uncertainty

Anything not in the top 4 would be disappointing but this will be the craziest off-season ever with all the money everyone has so who knows. Minnesota will be making a big leap I'm sure as well despite how young they are.

Burks is a major concern, however, as he has now missed significant time in four of five NBA seasons.

2 seasons because of injuries

Quote:
The obvious glaring hole is at the starting PG position. Mack did a nice job after coming over at the trade deadline, but he’s more of a backup/spot starter than a true frontline player.

I'd say both guard positions are open. Hood doesn't look like a starter anymore than Burks does. I see them adding a rotation player possibly a starting guard.

Quote:
If Utah is giving the starting role to Exum instead of a veteran, and they want to upgrade the backup role from Mack, Jeremy Lin, Jerryd Bayless or D.J. Augustin could be options.

Doubt they'd add any of them with Mack, Neto and Exum. Conley i could see but it doesn't sound like he's leaving Memphis.

Quote:
Should Utah want to shift Hood to a sixth man role and add depth, they could be a destination for Harrison Barnes. Barnes would fit in very well with the current players due to his versatility. If Hood is the starter and they wanted to add some bench depth, players like Eric Gordon, Kevin Martin, O.J. Mayo and Gerald Henderson are all solid options.

Barnes might make sense. He could eventually start at the 4 possibly too. Don't want Gordon's battered body or Martin at his age at least for the rotation. Martin at the end of the bench would be great. The other two might be fits though.

Quote:
Getting a quality backup who can play the stretch 4 role is also key, given the recent health concerns with Favors and Gobert. There are good possibilities available in guys like Ryan Anderson, Jared Dudley, Mirza Teletovic and Brandon Bass (assuming he opts out). All of those guys would give the Jazz a bit of a different look as they have more range on their jumper than the current bigs on the roster.

All those guys could be nice pick-ups

More than any one player, he's the best thing the Jazz have going for them right now.

This is like giving Sloan credit for the greatness of Stockton and Malone. They sucked at both ends of the court before Rudy emerged.

Quote:
The Jazz have to do a lot better than finish with a 9-17 record in one-point games in the last minute, as happened this season.

How many of those games don't come down to the wire if Withey is playing though? Hard for me to get past that.

Why use a quick hook? They did that when Tyrone Corbin was fired after 3½ seasons. But at that point, things had begun to deteriorate. The Jazz weren’t headed in a positive direction, having slid from 43 wins to 25 in Corbin’s final year.

It was positive for the front office. The plan was to lose games. Sign Millsap and Carroll and they are competitive like they were the previous two years. Ty never had a fair chance. They traded Deron right after he took over. Forced to build around the black hole known as Big Al. Let their best player go and forced to tank.

Brian Geltzeiler: The firing of Joerger doesn’t exactly strengthen the Grizzlies case in keeping Mike Conley. Hearing he had a foot out the door before this

NBA sources said the only free-agent point guard who would be a difference-maker is Mike Conley. He led the NBA in assist-to-turnover ratio and will be the top priority for several teams, including the Knicks and his own Grizzlies. Memphis can offer Conley more than $100 million, and GM Chris Wallace guaranteed they would re-sign him. But Conley’s odds of bolting Memphis could be increased by the Saturday firing of Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger and reports of Wallace’s potential departure.

Let's hope that they don't get injured, don't want another Dante Exum.

We got new jerseys and a new Court! I freaking love the new secondary logo and the new court, the new sleeved jersey though I'm not too hot about. Overall pretty good though

I do like the new sleeved jersey, just cause it reminds me of my footy teams guernsey in the Aussie rules football.
