Default floyd fought well but got exposed

i think mayweather definitely won. floyd made de la hoya miss almost all of his shots, besides some body shots and a head shot here n there, but for the most part he didnt land anything square. floyd was slick and his defense frustrated de la hoya. floyds punches on the other hand would connect a lot cleaner. went pretty much how i expected it to go, but i was hoping it wouldnt. floyds boxing skills and fighting defensively getting DLH frustrated and unable to figure it out and winning by decision. he fought the way he needed to fight in order to win. though he fought well, i think floyd was partially exposed. this isnt his weight division and he needs to move back down if he wants to be the fighter that he has been in the past.

he was hitting oscar clean and oscar just walked right through them. he seemed to be more affected by de la hoyas "non-clean" punches more than he was able to hurt de la hoya with his sharp clean punches. he wasnt a big puncher at the lighter weight classes and even less at super welterweight. most of the good boxers up there will be able to take his punches and just have to find a way to land something clean.

So essentially he was exposed for not having power at 154 against someone who's been fighting at 160?

It was his first fight at 154. He leaped from 140 to 154. What did you expect? His power to follow him? Oscar fought guys with harder punches and took them. He's never been an easy fighter to KO, to drop. Why expect Floyd the way he moved up? He's also a boxer...most of the fighters he face he will negate thier punches like great boxers do.

How was that being exposed? He was never known for his power and he is fighting at 14-24 lbs. above his natural weight. It shouldnt be a surprised he didnt drop Oscar who has a good chin.

exactly. how does that make a case for him staying at 150+? and floyds 3 previous fights were zab, baldomir and sharmba mitchell. all at 147 so he wasnt moving from 140.

put him up against a big guy with a decent chin who pushes forward and floyd might get his ass beat. oscar shoulda kept throwing to the body and shoulda just kept going at him cuz he showed that he could take his punches.

I think he should move back down to 147 and fight Shane personally but i do think he could still win at 154 with his skills but he wont be dropping anyone but he could possibly get a TKO against a less skilled fighter than Oscar.

Oscar is a big guy with a good chin who was pressing forward but PBF took and eluded his best shots and he ran out of gas. It was a draw til the 7th but than PBF just took over from there.

He had 3 fights at 147 before moving up.
