That's not the point, Mayweather Jr. attacked the UFC and it's organization, so he has to prove it by beating Sherk at it. If Sherk had attacked boxing then it would make sense that they box. Mayweather Jr. would obviously never accept so it's pointless to deeply consider, Mayweather Jr. would get absolutely punished by Sherk, which is why it won't happen.

floyd would probably get his ass kicked in UFC just like sherk or anyone else tried to box would get humiliated by floyd. that said, if floyd trained to be a UFC fighter, id like his chances better than if a UFC fighter training to be a boxer.

Boxing leaves you punch drunk and leads to problems down the line from the continued punches to the head, the UFC seemingly has no problems from this because they stop their fights so quickly after someone gets rocked and can't defend themselves.

The champion UFC guys are now making atleast $1,000,000 per fight if not more in some cases, the UFC is getting bigger and bigger and those numbers will rise in the future.

Boxing IS NOT safer than MMA. More people die in one year in boxing than have died in all MMA fights combined.

MMA has good rules and fights are stopped earlier, there is no standing 8 count or 3 knockdown rule.

When you have a concussion (as many boxers do when they get knocked down), and then get up and continue to get hit in the head, it leads to long term problems, or in severe cases, death.

A submission hold hurts for a time, but the pain is usually temporary (as are kicks).

Strikes to the head are the most dangerous by far. As someone said, who I assume has boxed before, being punch drunk isn't natural. You rarely, if ever, get that from fighting MMA.

If Mayweather "did" take this fight he better not fight like he did against DLH. He'd get killed if he did.

Maybe you can't read.

Neither Sean Sherk or Dana White bashed boxing. Mayweather is the one saying a boxer could clean out the UFC. So Dana and the champion at Floyd's weight are supposed to just sit there and be talked about like that?

It's cool. Mayweather won't accept because he isn't a fighter. He's a boxer. He needs to learn the difference. Sherk has been punched in the face many a time, but when has Mayweather ever had a keylock slapped on him to make him qualified to make such statements.

If he's so into talking trash to sell PPV, he should be a man and take Dana up on his offer if UFC fighters really "ain't sh!t" like he says.

What would make you think that?

UFC fighters already train boxing......

Mayweather plays a sport. Sherk doesnt. Takes less skill to jump on a guy and pummel him and put him in holds than to juke and jab, and throw fists like missiles, IMO.

Mayweather was wrong to say he could take on a UFC guy, he couldnt, but I wouldnt be suprised if he was correct in saying UFC fighters are guys who couldnt be boxers. Either that or they just wanna lets their mental issues out by trying to hurt other people.

Yeah that was probably wrong. Its not like UFC fighters cant punch. But Floyd sure as hell cant leg sweep and choke a guy out.

They cant...the history of boxing is deeper, greater than alley fighting in Thailand.

Yes especially since Dana and Floyd are cool. Obviously its all hype, buildup for a bigtime fight that is supposed to bring boxing back...and how all the talks of it being dead, MMA is the in thing now. It was time to use that and sell the fight. Tell people screw MMA, come out and watch the fight, pay for the fight because boxing will be broke back to life after the match. Thats why he did that....Floyd is all about money and if he sees a oppurtunity to get more people to watch this fight? He'll do it. Taking shots at MMA was just that.

Who cares....wtf is a keylock? Geeze you get into MMA and you're so psycho with it now. I bet you put pillows in submission holds at home.

He has nothing to win and everything to lose. No thanks. What does beating Shrek, Sherk, Shark, Shythead whatever...what does beating him do for Floyd?

And this isnt to say he would...its making a point that if for fun he were to win? It does nothing for his career. Its a footnote... "oh yeah Floyd challenged a MMA fighter and won.". Maybe it gives Jim Lampley justification and has him giddy as all hell for HBO Boxing after Dark as he throws a comment about it here and there...but overall? What does Floyd gain from it? A payday and a footnote. No thanks. He gains more beating Winky Wright or Miguel Cotto (if he thumps Zab next month).

Smarten up kid...you train for MMA cause I used to box. I'd fight you.

Ignorant.

Less skill?

Wow. Some people have NO CLUE. MMA is JUST AS MUCH of a sport as boxing is. Ask ANY STATE ATHLETIC COMMISSION that licenses both (like Nevada and New Jersey and California).

GoBB still talking nothing of substance.

So basically, Floyd Mayweather is a money hungry punk who disrespects peoples' professions and isn't man enough to accept a challenge of honor after doing so?

I get it.

Like I said......he isn't a fighter. He's out of his element. You think MMA fans getting pissed about it is funnier, but what's funnier is that Mayweather really does think that he could roll through a real fighter such as Sean Sherk or Kid Yamamoto.

He obviously loves the money. Dana could give him as much as he is making right now to fight Sherk. All about the money, right?
