I don't know who will be available, and I don't know if Novak or Spanoulis can develop into players under Adelman. They are really like two new draft picks who have had a year to study the system.
There are a few trades which are possible, but might not suit either the Rockets or the other team. They just work under the cap and address needs to some extent.
Head and Howard to Miami for A Walker (tough trade)
Head to Miami for Simien (does either team have the guts?)
Head & Novak to the Bobcats for Sean May (could fill 4/5 need)
Spanoulis for May (in a heartbeat)
Snyder for May (two heartbeats?)
Head and Spanoulis to Chicago for Duhon (address PG help issue)
Head and Spanoulis to the Knicks for Frye and Collins (would the Knicks bite? Frye has dropped down the depth chart & both Span & Collins have shown very little so far)
Sean May is a solid player if unspectacular and could fill the post behind Yao Ming against smaller centers as well as log plenty of minutes at PF.
There was plenty of conjecture that Simient should have been the man on draft day for the Rockets.
Duhon is definite help at PG, and Head can be help at SG--but does Spanoulis have any value at all? Bulls might save money if VSpan runs home to mommy.
It would be great to see Frye and Collins trying to contribute outside the NYK zoo where there are umpteen zillionaires whining for playing time, trades, etc.
