Default Bring in Gerald Wallace!

If you look at Gerald Wallace, he has 18pts/7 rebs at SF.
I'd say bring him in and give up Luke.

Option 2: bring in Billups, and watch tickets skyrocket.

Funny when a Luke Walton username says to give up Walton.

We would have to give more than just Luke.

He's a FA right set to make 6 mil next year. Like Walton said, in a perfect world he will accept less and sign with the Laker's. For the full MLE 5 mil a year. But it's not a perfect world. But he would be a good pick up.

I would definitely like Wallace on the squad as well...

As as much as Chauncey is my fantasy point guard, there's no way he will play for the Lakers. It just won't happen.

Walton is a likeable guy, and he was playing great before the injury.
I can't change my user name now. Luke definitely left me wondering after the Phoenix series; he was no better than Smush, Sasha... he became a stiff.

When healthy, Luke facilitates the offense, and he's a good ball-handler, but I'm being realistic here. Luke is not the best small forward the Lakers can have. I think Gerald Wallace would be a significant upgrade. Look has guard-like skills, but we need a forward who can rebound, score and defend.

I like luke too, he is a husle type player that does things that don't show up in the box score at the end of the night... before luke was injured just his ability to slash the paint kept the offense in motion, he doesn't even need to be part of the play, just his knowledge of the offense and what needs to be done to keep it movong is an asset.. once injured that really hampered his movment and i found him teneding to hold himself back from the slashing and he tended to park when not directly involved... maybe the injury was more serious then we knew or he just never got back into the rythm he had displayed earlier

^concur with posts about luke. i just want him coming off the bench and not starting, thats all. i want a stronger player in there to start. Do any of you think GW could be a good system guy and flourish in the Triangle?

I just watched Billups embarrassed the Bulls. I'd love Billups to play next to Kobe.

My dream Laker team would have Luke as a 6th man. In fact, If the Lakers ever had the luxury of having Luke as their 6th man, then he'd be right up there with Ginobli and Barbosa competing for the 6th man award.

he'd be a good sixth man but for a different reason ginbli and barbosa are instant energy off the bench they attack a defense... luke's asset off the bench is he can maintain a tempo or act as a stablizing presence in those times when everythings out of sync, he has the abilty to refocus a team, he won't drive to the hoop relentlesly or run helter skelter here and there but he can make the proper contribution depending on what the game dictates

What I meant to say is that he'd be just as valuable as those guys.

This season we didn't have a clear 6th man. We had a bench quality players in Smush and Cook as starters. And with all the injuries, we had a third-stringer play 6th man at times. The closest thing to a 6th man was Mo Evans.

He might turn out to be more like Pippen than Odom. 18 pts, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals a game, with a field goal percentage over .500. This guy would be the pippen to Kobe's Jordanesque game.

Let's really push this idea on the message boards and hope it generates some talk in LA.

How exactly does Wallace fit-in in LA?

He's not a good shooter so thats hurts him in the triangle and he can't play off that other swingman that plays for the Lakers, the one who scored a lot of points a few times over the past few years.

With the Cats, Gerald had the ball in his hand a lot of times so it allowed him to score. Hows he going to get touches alongside that other swingman and Odom?

Lewis seems like a much better fit than Wallace is.
