Solid trade for Utah, they get another piece of an 8 man playoff rotation. Fisher and Harpring off of the bench already give them a solid situation, add in Giricek or Brewer, depending on who starts, and they have a shot at being deep.

Will they go get a FA big man to backup Boozer and Okur? A guy like Kelvin Cato would be nice for the Jazz IMHO.

Nice trade for Utah, though I never thought I'd see the day where Fisher warranted 3 players for his services. Fisher could be good for Deron to have around. He'll help solidify their bench.

Didn't the Jazz start that big lineup at the end of the year?

Deron
Harpring
AK47
Boozer
Okur

That's a big, effective lineup right there. Barring injuries, they have a great shot at the playoffs next year in wide open west.

I guess I'm not sure I entirely get this move. Does Utah think they're ready to make a lot of noise in the playoffs? That's the only reason to start aquiring horrible contracts IMO.

You make it sound like 3 players means 3 actual NBA players. That is at most one player worthy of PT, and it's mostly if not all expiring contracts.

Isn't this the last year of his deal? I can't remember how many years he signed for in GS.

I know that Brown is basically the only player that's worth anything in the deal, I'm more just saying that it's funny to me to see 3 players go for Fisher.

1. Good trade for Jazz. They get a veteran who can help Deron Williams and who will be a good locker room guy. Fisher is a proven winner.

2. Good trade for the Warriors as a salary dump. They can't get rid of Baron Davis, so they had to trade Fisher.

That is some contract the GSW gave Fisher. When did he ever do anything to make anyone thing - "Oh, we needthis guy".

He played well and hit big shots for the Lakers, but does anyone beleive he was more than a system player.

Houston offered 4 years, 24 million.

Golden State upped its offer to get Fisher.

He's a good player, and considering the salaries for point guards (see Earl Watson and Speedy Claxton), he isn't overpaid.

But the Warriors can't move Baron Davis, so Fisher had to go to free up salary.
