I actually had no idea he was only 25, I remember him dominating at the WR spot but it seems so long ago.

He actually had 8 catches for 120 yards in a win at Atlanta in his first game back.

Things went off the cliff from there, but we also closed the last four games against stiff competition and the entire team played like sh!t. Also, the coaching staff decided to hand the team over to Johnny Manziel ... who is objectively bad.

For the first time since I can remember, I actually have some faith in the coaching staff and Gordon's talent can't be denied. If anyone can turn that offense around, it's Hue Jackson (of the available options of course). This is a guy who has made Andy Dalton look like a competent NFL quarterback for years... and he's gotten a lot of receivers paid.

Not saying it's you by any means, but i'm so sick of that line being used every single regime.

"Mangini is a good, he's gonna turn it around."

"Holmgren knows what it take to win, he's a football guy, they are going to get it done"

"Well, Lombardi and Banner can't be worse than Holmgren, right?"

"Chud is a players coach he's gonna get this thing done!"

"Man, Pettine is gonna turn us into a bruising AFC north team that defends"

etc. etc. etc. etc.

Every. Single. Reboot.

I won't believe it until I see it.

F*ck Jimmy Haslem. That crook is the real real problem. He's a grade A meddler.

For the record, I'm usually super negative about the Browns on this board. Others can vouch for that. I'm as gloomy and doomy as they get for the Browns.

I didn't understand the Mangini hire two seconds after the job became available. I felt like Holmgren created a golden parachute with us and that he had no invested interest in turning the franchise around. Shurmur was a head-scratcher... Pettine was maybe their 6th or 7th choice... etc.

But, I have really like Hue Jackson for a long time as a head coaching prospect. Even going back to the one season he had the Raiders HC gig... he led a pretty sh!tty roster to an 8-8 season before Al Davis died and they decided to clean house.

Yes, Haslam is a d!ck and a crook and he probably should be in jail. He represents everything wrong with corporate America. But, unfortunately we're stuck with him.

Hopefully this is a thread that is bumped by RBA in the future.

I had countless jokes but I'd be lying if I dont want to see the situation succeed. I like Hue as a HC, RG III has the chance to put an end to the list of laughable QBs that came through there as he looks to shake the disappointment/bust (how u define it) talks buzzing over him. And Josh Gordon stud talent goes without saying.

I hope it works out.

Josh Gordon 'confident' he can match his 2013 numbers

It feels like 37 years ago when Josh Gordon wound up leading the NFL in receiving yards.

In truth, it was much more recent than that -- 2013 -- but the starry Browns receiver has been a ghost since then, playing in just a handful of games the following season before serving a league-imposed ban that wiped out all of 2015.

Back on the field and preparing for his first preseason game -- which could come Thursday against the Falcons -- Gordon stressed Monday that he's entirely capable of repeating his feats from three campaigns ago, saying: "I'm confident in my abilities. I know what I can do."

Gordon practiced for the first time Monday after suffering a quad injury prior to training camp. Bottom line, the wideout showed up out of shape, but his teammates have welcomed him back to the fold.

"It feels like home," Gordon said, adding, per the team's official website: "Every day that I'm back means a lot to me. I'm glad to be out there with my brothers, put my helmet back on and get back in the swing of things."

He'll start the year serving another four-game ban, but the Browns would love to preview a three-receiver set featuring Gordon, quarterback-turned-wideout Terrelle Pryor and exciting rookie Corey Coleman during the preseason.

At 25, Gordon still has time to make good on his incredible potential. We've been here before, though, with the enigmatic pass-catcher saying all the right things, only to vanish again under the haze of NFL discipline. This time, we need to see it on the field.

Uh-huh.

Gordon worked out with the ones today. Looks like the ideal receiving corps would be Gordon, Coleman, Hawkins and Pryor, with Pro-Bowler Barnidge at TE.

I'm surprised at how good Terrell Pryor looks so far in the preseason as a receiver. He has made that transition much quicker than I imagined. It's the preseason, but he beat Desmond Trufant on this play.

One thing we will never forget - The Browns are an eternally cursed and shitty franchise.

In before Gordon has 3 monster games and then gets banned for life for testing positive again.
