Default D-League experimenting with four and five-person referee crews

The NBA D-League is experimenting with four and five-person officiating crews for nine games this season.

The first game of the trial took place on Dec. 26, with four referees officiating a matchup between the Westchester Knicks and Long Island Nets.

The next experimental game, also with four referees, is Jan. 2, when Long Island hosts the Delaware 87ers.
