Unless there is a major injury to a starter, its enough to get us to the trade deadline and make some kind of deal. Really all we lost was Mozgov who wasn't in the rotation and our backup point guard. Everybody seems to be high on Felder so we will see. It is so crucial to sign JR. Dude gets good looks nearly every possession with the starting core on the floor.
Bench are overrated. In the playoffs and in the NBA Finals. The NBA Coaches only used an 8th man or 9th man rotations.
agreed. rotations are shortened in the playoffs and actually having a deep rotation can come back to haunt you because your best lineups wont be on the court as often. this happened to the Warriors in the finals when Kerr kept stubbornly playing Varajeo and Ezeli when they had no business being on the court.
If he can stay healthy, Dunleavy is a better pick-up than most people are giving us credit for. He has always been a deadly shooter -- which automatically means he will thrive offensively on this team -- and his defensive principles have been solid. No, he isn't the athlete he was in his prime and even then he wasn't some beast end-to-end player, but he has a high basketball IQ and he'll make the smart play.
People also aren't taking into account this being really the first full offseason, training camp and preseason these guys have had together... and Kyrie and Tristan being a year older and closer to their respective prime years.
I think Love is going to be a lot better with the weight of a championship off this team's shoulders and the same might go for other guys. The expectations on this team were heavy -- maybe too heavy -- right out of the gates. Now, they're basically playing with house money. No one thinks they're going to win it again.
