Default Conf Finals: Analyze the Pistons-Cavs matchup

The Pistons and Cavs will meet in the Eastern conference finals.

Discuss the key player matchups between the two teams.

The style of each team.

The offensive and defensive skills.

The coaches.

Advantages each team has. And disadvantages.

Predicting the outcome is OK to do, too, but infinitely more interesting than a prediction is analysis of the above.

I say the Cavs match up well with the Pistons but I think the Pistons are better this year than last year around playoff time, they seem to have that hunger to win a championship again.

I agree with this, although I think to a lesser extent. I'd definitely be surprised with a Cleveland win, but I think they'll keep almost every game close and make it a tight series. I'll stick with Pistons in 5 or 6, although even if it does end in 5, all the games will be very close.

Last year's series was competitive, but I expect the Pistons to hand them Cavs a beatdown this year.

Detroit in 5.. possible sweep

The Bulls are a much better team than the Cavs, but the Bulls didn't show up in the first two games. Pistons in five or six.

Pistons in 5. I can't see a Cavs victory at all.

Much better? Hardly.

The season series was 2-2, I believe. The Cavs beat the Bulls in Chicago in a critical game late in the season that proved to be the difference between the 2nd and 5th seeds.

So... the Cavs had a better regular season record. The Cavs beat the Bulls in a critical game late in the season in Chicago. The Cavs have a player far better than anyone on Chicago's roster (Chicago's real problem is that they don't really have a 'go to' guy).

What, exactly, leads you to believe Chicago is 'much better' than the Cavs given these facts?

Bulls play as a team. Cleveland lives and dies off of one man, even with the superior roster talent-wise. Cleveland should thank god that they have LeBron, because they would be down there with the Hawks and Grizzlies if they didn't.

Pistons will take it in 6. Maybe less, but nothing more than 6. Cavs only hope is for LeBron to get a bunch of star calls.

I think the Bulls are significantly better than the Cavs because I don't really like Drew Gooden as a player, his basketball IQ is too low. I don't much like Z, he's too slow and I don't really like how he fits with the rest of the team. I don't like Larry Hughes because he's not a true PG, and he can't shoot well enough to play SG. The team seems like more of a hodge podge frankenstein machine than a cohesive unit.

All of the above is why I think Chicago's better...but I could be wrong. I was wrong about the Pistons losing to Chicago.

Cavs match up well with Pistons and will be confident. I still think the Pistons will win but it will go 7.

The Cavs rely on a player with the IQ of an infant.

At Least the player might possibly take his team into the NBA Finals you do not need to have an IQ of Battier and Nash if you cannot even take your team into the NBA Finals.

Pistons in 5

Cavs don't have the guys who can shoot their way to wins like Bulls did.

LETS GO Pistons!

So the Cavaliers are the underdog of this series, Cavs have alot to gain by beating the Detroit Pistons. It doesn't mean the Cavaliers would just lay down in favor of the Pistons, Cavs will give them a better fight like the Pistons-Heat series last year.

If the Cavaliers win it verify that LeBron James is the Most Valuable Player in the NBA,because if the Cavs have no Lebron this team my not even win 25 games this season. Lebron is the glue that stick the Cavaliers together as a team.

Relieving the Good ole Days, I hope Cavaliers will play tough defense because defense wins Championship not a run and gun game.
