WTF are you smoking? The only year Brady might have had a better season was 2007, but even then he's much more efficient with much less turnovers this year. And 2007 was with a prime Randy Moss the whole season.

If Brady wins the last 4 games, it is definitely the best season he ever had by a wide margin.

Matt Ryan doesn't play defense.

Not trying to disagree with you here carbine, **** euroleague but let's be honest here. The MVP will almost always go to the best 2 seeds in their perspective conference.

So unless the Falcons keep winning Ryan chances aren't as big as the others

The last 3 years it just so happened the best player played on the team with first round byes.

2012 MVP Peterson was a wild card.

Falcons win the division that should satisfy the votes need for wins. Someone playing at the level he is deserves to be in every discussion for MVP.

He's having one of the best statistical seasons of al time. 5000 yards, 35+ TDS and 115 QB Rating I doubt that has happened more than 3 times in NFL History.

This is an odd year for MVP

No matter who wins I think lots of people will object to it

If anything that the exception not the norm. He also had a record season with a narrative.

Other than him I think Steve McNair was the last one to be in a below top 4 team. So yeah like I said almost always you need to be in a top top team

Go look at the people who won MVP. Most of them had the best stats.

Last 10 years:

Cam
Rodgers twice
Manning three times
Tomlinson
Brady twice
Peterson

Cam had the best total stats last year. 4500 total yards, 45 TDs and 10 picks.

Rodgers had the best stats in his two seasons.

Brady best stats in his two seasons.Manning best stats in two of his seasons.

Peterson best stats in his season.

Tomlinson best stats in his season.

The players with the best stats this season are Matt Ryan, Tom Brady, Brees, Dak & Elliot.

The MVP isn't going to Brees because he's on one of the worst teams in the NFL.

It could go to any of those other four, but the whole point is Ryan DESERVES to be in the discussion. Dumb f*ck Euro wants to disregard him because his team is 8-5.

I don't care if you think Brady is higher. Or Dak or Elliot......but it's bullshit to disregard Matt Ryan in this convo.

I posted about it last year, MVP historically is best player on one of the best teams.

With Carr's absolute goose egg on Thursday I have to feel like Brady is the favorite right now. In the end I have to imagine Zeke and Dak splitting the Dallas votes. Falcons need the division win (which is looking good) so Ryan feels second. Then you've got Rodgers (if they win out), Stafford, and I guess maybe a couple defensive guys looking in

If Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers deserve consideration then Kirk Cousins probably deserves a mention too.

You are a proven Brady hater. The Falcons are not a good enough team to have the MVP. Same with Rodgers and the Packers, Brees with the Saints...

You are just mad because Brady is pulling ahead in the MVP race.

The Falcons were expected to win 6 or 7 games. We can now easily go 11-5. And with a couple bounces/calls that record could be even better.

11-5 isn't an MVP season for a QB, especially in that division. And that assumes the Falcons win all their games, when they have been inconsistent all season.

If you look at the games we've won vs the ones we've lost it should be clear that 8-5 doesn't suit us very well.

Out of the 8 wins only 1 has been close (GB), and Matt Ryan still drove us easily down the field to win it. No breaks really.

Of the 5 loses, 3 of them truly could have gone the other way. Ryan put us in a position to win all of them.

With how inexperienced our defense is, and with the difficulty of our schedule, it's absurd not to have Ryan right there in the conversation.

Cousins is on par with Ryan in yards and that's it.

TD %
Ryan- 6.8
Cousins- 4.6

YPA
Ryan- 9.2 (would be a career high for Brady or Brees)
Cousins- 8.2

QB Rating
Ryan- 113.2
Cousins- 100.3

And Ryan's team has a better record. Not all that close.
