Default Brady vs Belichick

Belichick's adaptability is simply unparalleled
It's the coach for me. Bill Belichick's ability to adjust personnel and game plans -- not only week to week, but throughout a game -- is rare in this league. A lot of head coaches can't do it. However, Belichick has been doing it for what seems like forever.

Quarterback's clearly important, but head coach is ALL-IMPORTANT
Top-notch quarterback play is vital to winning in the NFL -- and to winning a Lombardi Trophy. But I am taking the future Hall of Fame coach over the future Hall of Fame QB because the head man has his hands on everything. While the QB affects the offense, the coach affects offense, defense, special teams, who is on the roster, how players are used and game management -- as well as the motivation and discipline of the team.

The Patriots have something no other franchise can even dream of
Belichick is the mastermind of the NFL, and nobody has been able to replicate what he's done in New England. Even coaches under him aren't even close to as successful on their own as they are under his umbrella. Good head coaches eventually are run out of town -- within, at most, 10 years of taking the position -- but Belichick has spearheaded the league's winningest franchise since 2000, and he'll be the head coach there until he decides to retire.

A coach as good -- and fearless -- as Belichick is irreplaceable
Belichick is fantastic as a coach. He's not afraid. He has a great offensive and defensive mind and isn't afraid to let big-name players go if he finds a better fit. We've seen the Patriots have the same results despite the different roster looks. Then you have to take into account what he's doing as the general manager.

Generally speaking, a coach and quarterback on the same team work together. There is n "vs" because if one wins then the other wins. They also normally lose together. Normally.

Haters never need a reason to lose their minds but 7 Superbowls and the prospect of five rings appears to have a few posters triggered.

13-5 without Brady in lineup

Offense actually gets more yOards a game without Brady after 18 GAME SAMPLE.

We ain't typing about 2,3,4 games. 18 games.

Patriots 13-5 without Brady.

Bellechek > Brady.

No doubt about it.

This.

However I fear them equally (which is kind of what I assume this thread is about).

Most fans of teams with great quarterbacks don't have the same situation. It's jealousy, but reasonable.

If Brady is a creation of Belichick then what the hell is Joe Montana?

Montana played for one of the greatest offensive minds in NFL history in Bill Walsh who implemented an offense (West Coast Offense) that changed the entire NFL.

Yeah Brady/Vader are more popular but Belichick/Palpatine are the real masterminds.

Are you kidding me? Are we leaving out the fact they got shut out by the Bills and dropped 41 on them with Brady a couple weeks later? And it's not like he threw 3 TDs to Gronk, he threw 4 TDs total, to 4 different receivers, 4 TDs was how many Garoppolo and Jacoby threw in total the first 4 games

They go 3 - 1 without Brady, but with Brady they have lost once (to the Seahawks which they should have won if not for the non-call) and gone undefeated the rest of the way to the SB

oh wow they go 10 - 5 without Brady in 2008 and miss the Playoffs when they go undefeated the season before

Do we leave out the fact the Patriots were 5-11 in 2000 with Bledsoe and 0 - 2 with Bledsoe in 2001? whereas with Brady they go 11 - 3

hmm

If you leave this bias aside and put all games together, they are 18 - 18 without Brady during his career in New England

Except they don't, not passing yards

Matt Cassell averaged 230 YPG, Brady has averaged almost 260, 300 with that same roster the year before

And in 2016 they averaged 210 YPG without Brady.

You're the dumbest ***** out here I swear. Every turn you take you getting owned

West Coast offense turned two guys into GOATs and became one of the most popular offense in the NFL

The NE system has yet to succeed outside New England. Josh Mcdaniels bombed in Denver and St. Louis and the Texans are still struggling on offense

There is no NE System.

Coaches who branch out from under Belichicks wings have all failed. This means Belichick is the system. He can't be replicated.

He's not only the coach he's the General Manager.

This is not a vs matter. They both need each other. To think someone that was drafted in the 6th round would be at the same all time level if he was in a different organization is ludicrous. At the same time, there is no telling if Belichick becomes an all time great coach without Brady. Even though I am more likely to believe Belichick likely does win at least 1 or 2 without him as opposed to Brady even getting a chance to play.

How often are 6th round picks even given the chance to play a game? At such a high profile position?
