The OAK and STL yes, very much. But those were not, AT ALL, chip shot or even gimme FG's. I mean they were literally kicking snow off the turf for Vinatieri.

The CAR one speaks for itself. No real engineering there. He had to go about 22 yards to get in range for Vinatieri.


And he was only the underdog in one SB. The first. Almost every playoff game after that sans two (@DEN the past two times, and @PIT in 05) was he ever probably considered and underdog.

You're not wrong about that of course, but can't forget that Vinatieri missed two previous FG that game (one was blocked).
