Default question in purchse of used car

im looking to buy a 2002 2dr. honda civic si...wondering wat do u guys think is the most important thing to look into when buying a used car, other then the milage or visible damage???? (this car has 68,000km & they are asking $11,000 CAN, gonna try to get to low $10,000CAN)

Mileage is a given. Before you start driving it, you need to bring it to a certified mechanic and see if there are any problems with it.


You also need to check the price. When you see cars for less than $10,000, that means the car has at least a few problems. No decent used cars go for $6,000-$8,000.

If your looking to commit or spend in the range of 10 grand then it wouldn't hurt to do "vehicle damage history report". . .

Take down the civics Vin number and register an account at carfax.com or any site that provides you with that sort of background or information. . .

I think the registration may cost you around 20$ to search as many numbers as you want for about a month but whats 20$ really when your investing in something like a car...

BTW: You can never really go wrong with the SI, espcially for that asking price with only 68 thousand clicks...
