I might be biased as a Michigan fan, but if you're looking for a real playmaker who can play multiple positions, make an instant impact as a KR/PR, and even do work on both sides of the ball ... give me Jabrill Peppers all day.

People underrate his coverage skills because they misunderstand what his role was in Michigan's scheme. As someone who watches that team religiously, they were horrendous at setting the edge in 2015. In 2016, Harbaugh and staff decided that they wanted that issue put to rest so they gave Peppers the challenge of setting the edge.

And he was fantastic at it.

Brett Kollmann does an excellent job of breaking it down here, and I was so happy that someone finally properly assessed his tape:

Keep in mind, I'm not saying he's a great fit for every team and every circumstance. But, based on what you're getting with Jackson, I just think Peppers is a better version of the same kind of player.

You're also getting a great leader in the lockerroom and a monster returner.

I would question anyone who says Peppers is setting the edge.

Off the ball linebackers, like Peppers was used as last year, do not set an edge. The 43 DE or 34 OLB set the edge.

Peppers wasn't your run-of-the-mill off-ball linebacker. What he did in Michigan's scheme last year was very unusual. Again, watch the tape. Or, watch the video above which does a better job explaining it than I probably can.

Nothing about Peppers' 2016 season was "normal" for a linebacker. Also, he wasn't necessarily "setting" the edge. He was protecting the edge. That is, depending on what the offense ran, he may have no influence on the edge. But, when teams ran in his direction, his responsibility was to make the RB break back inside or pay the price.

Whatever you want to call it ... he influenced the edge, something the Michigan defense needed more than anything else.

I've been looking at NFC East teams since my team plays them next season and had no idea Dallas basically lost their entire secondary, damn. Luckily for them this draft is deep with corners and safeties.

I've watched plenty of Peppers. I feel confident saying he's not setting any edge in any game because he's not a base end in their front.

You had me confused when you said setting the edge. I watched the video, what he's doing is what a great linebacker does - flows to the ball with great athletic and tackling ability.

When Keuchly runs down a RB sideline to sideline I've never heard that referred to as setting the edge.

This is setting the edge. #98 sets a strong line of scrimmage edge and doesn't allow the RB to get outside forcing everything back in. What Peppers is doing is shooting gaps with tremendous athletic ability.

I'm hoping we trade back into the 1st for Watson or get lucky with Kizer in the 2nd so I don't mind this.

I love Adams at 3. And if we don't get a QB with our second pick then a guy like Adoree or Tra' Davius White is a guy I want in Rd. 2. Possibly Peppers too but if we get a Small with our 3rd pick then it'd be redundant to draft another one with our second pick.

Y'all probably have been scouting these players more than I have this Draft but that looks like the best mock I've seen.

Yet I am still a top gun in this forum so the game film I have seen has revealed the tools all the best players have. Good class, damn strong for defense and running backs

Good job PT

Although if Hooker slips that far, I wouldn't mind the Skins giving up maybe next year's second to move up

Also, I believe the Colts are linked to Jarrad Davis as one of the guys they like. They need a whole bunch on that defense and offensive line

Our offensive line woes are overblown right now. Used to be true, now it's just average. We have one of the best left sides including center in the league. Right side well below average, but some potential there with 2nd year guys.

Defense is what needs to be improved. It needed to be improved 5 years ago.

After looking over it a little more, I can say that I don't think Ross lasts until 18. I do like him as fit for Tennessee because I believe they badly wanted to acquire Brandin Cooks.

Really like Charlton to ATL too.

I will be actively rooting that BAL doesn't draft Foster, Hooker or Ross as those are guys I want as Redskins so it would piss me off to see the Ratbirds get them one slot before.

Peppers looks dope RBA...what a great break down of him that is. I wish all prospects had a scout breakdown vid like that.

If Dallas doesn't draft Adoree hope we get Peppers later. I still favor Adoree
