Default Can someone explain to me what the Bears did?

Admittedly, I didn't watch the draft and I don't know what i'm talking about.

But why the hell did the Bears trade all those draft picks to move up one pick and select a guy they could've got with their original pick without losing any draft picks?

they obviously thought someone else was moving up to 2 to get Trubisky

San Fransisco just got one of the biggest steals I've ever seen.

They still got their man and now have like 4 extra picks. Literally just free picks.

Call me crazy if you want, but I like the Bears approach. Yeah they paid a price to move up 1 spot, but they got their dude. Just because they felt good enough about Glennon to sign him in free agency doesn't mean they should pat themselves on the back and close the book on their search for a QB.

Yeah it's just pure luck, they just happen to be in correct spot to have free picks fall in their lap.

The niners convinced the Bears (true or not) that another team was throwing out offers to move up to #2 to draft a QB.

Fairly simple.

Bears added another QB to their long list of duds in the teams history

If Mitch turns out to be average it was well worth it.

Kudos to a franchise that's willing to take a risk. It's not like they gave up much, what a second and a couple thirds? Big whoop.

Trubisky will be a serviceable starter I believe.

Doubt he will be a top 5-10 guy but for the Bears whose only really skilled QB was a wet log, this is a good move.

Giving up all those picks are a whole diff story

Didn't they just give up a couple 3rd rounders?

Seems like a small price to pay for what they believe is a franchise QB.

Nobody will care about those picks if he pans out.

He better pan out.

Pace has found some gems with that late picks so I'm hoping Mitch is that guy. But crazy to think we signed two QBs and now drafted one. Even if Glennon struggles I believe Sanchez would be the starter.

Yeah exactly.

If they don't nail the QB pick, it will turn out a disaster
