He can definitely shoot that's for sure. He's young only 19 let's see how he does in the g league/sixers games. He just arrived Tuesday I believe and was only part of shoot arounds. He didn't really get a chance to practice with the sl team.

I want to see him making offball cuts to the basket and putting the ball on the floor attacking the rim.

I love the way you shamelessly bandwagon the 76ers with the name of a guy who made a career out of beating the shit out of the 76ers.

Tanking is effective in a system where a bad record guarantees you a good pick of the best prospects. It's also somewhat disrespectful to the game to lose on purpose. Can't both those things be true?

Perhaps both can be true. But do non sixers fans care about the overall state of the NBA? Generally speaking of course. I just see fake outrage. If Hinkie never publicly said what some teams do discretely? Then I think Sixers seasons are swept under the rug much like other franchises who have lived in the lottery for years. Because honestly? Not many really care. It would have become "ha ha ha sixers stink.". And the day they became good "ha ha ha about time.". Now its "Well after disrespecting the game of basketball, putting shame on the franchise of Philadelphia sports, creating a losing culture which manifested into cancer amongst players and fans. It's about time, however I'm never ever going to forget what you did. Ever." . Like seriously? When did you become that invested in the overall state of the NBA?

Coming from you? That's fine. Because we have a rapport with one another when it comes to discussing bball, sports and things over the countless years. But coming from the masses? Not buying the outrage. Not buying the ridiculous exaggerated emotions over tanking, whats good for the game, its fans, time to put in rules etc. It's like stop it.

A couple things that Sixers fans need to consider before jacking each other off into the 2020s.

1. Joel Embiid's Health- that's an obvious one. He's killing it right know but hacing such issues at a young age doesn't bode well for future health.

2. Ben Simmons is a Diva- I know he hasn't had much controversy or been a hazardous player for the organization but I see that guys being a passive-aggressive pain in the ass.

When the going gets tough, as seen at LSU, he underperformed and threw his teammates under the bus. I also watched his Showtime Documentary and the guy comes off as a spoiled brat and not in the LeBron way.

He's a frontrunner and a follower, taking cues from other players which isn't all bad but remember, LeBron, KD, etc. all wanted out of their teams that drafted them and I don't think Simmons was all that enamored with being in Philly. That has probably changed but we'll see.

A lengthy absence, not even season ending, injury to Embiid, the 6ers start to slip a little, don't be surprised if Simmons whines and cries and breaks up team chemistry because he expects to be the next Bron Bron.

I don't trust that guy's loyalty at all.

Embiidís health is always on my mind. But you know what? The same can be said about any star player on any team. Look what has happened to Curry recently (and Kawhi and Kyrie). It is just the game and its brutality. There is no way you can eliminate it. It's just the way the sport is.

Secondly, despite what you think, Ben is in the perfect situation. He is Brett Brown's pride and joy. Brett Brown coached his father and is super tight with his family. He has known Ben since he was a baby. He has his best interest at heart and knows how to keep him grounded.

The team is super close and being so young will help in the future. You always see them joking around and having a good time pre game, post game and on the bench. They have all been through so much in a short few years with the injuries, losses ECT. It has brought them together in a special way. This is something older professional teams that just come together and play and don't speak any other time don't have. This has created a great team culture.

Plus his game isn't "I'm going to get mine, f#ck yall". He has clearly stated many times he wants to pass first to get others into the game and win above all else. Who doesn't want to play with a star like that and his unique ability and game?

Good write up

I think anyone expecting the 76ers to be anywhere near one of the best teams ever is crazy.

I have huge doubts that a duo with a big man and a PG who can't shoot will be anything more than just a really good team in this era where shooting and spacing is paramount. I don't see any titles in the 6ers future let alone "best team ever" status, even IF Embiid stays healthy the entire time and they hold on to Ben and Saric. Just do not see it.
