Default Donovan Mitchell looks like the real deal!

Showed a lot in his debut. Be hard to keep him off the floor. Rubio makes less and less sense by the day

I guess. No one did for the Jazz last year. It's taken Exum until his 4th year to look like he belongs finally

Very nice debut. Probably the best out of all rookies this far. But how does he take Rubio spot and why? You need someone to run the team. Dante Exum had a good game too.

Combo. I imagine they'd like him at the one eventually for D anway. The Jazz like to have all their guys be able to play with and without the ball. Rubio makes little sense in that scheme

I really think you are under-rating Rubio man.

He's a really good player and fits in very well on the Jazz if Gordon stays imo.

He's also on a great contract for 2 more seasons.

I hope Gordon comes back so you get to see this...I could be wrong of course, but I really think Rubio is going to make you eat your words here.

I shouldn't have to say this...but the below is by no means a perfect measure or anything like that, but it should at least give some anti Rubio people some pause. He's a really good player in the right situation;

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com...o/george-hill/

Not enough is being made of the fact that Hill is 4 years older.

How is he a great fit with Gobert, Favors and Exum who also can't stretch the floor? Sloan is not coach anymore. Hayward will be swarmed by defenders because they don't have to guard the others on the perimeter

Hill was the perfect fit regardless of age. They gave up a lottery pick for him.

I'm not anti-Rubio. Put him on a team with 4 shooters around him and he might work. Minnesota got rid of him for the same reasons he's a now a bad fit in Utah

Why the **** are the Jazz playing a lineup like that? The Jazz need to play small ball lineups with Gobert at center with guys like Ingles/Joe at the 4.

You keep saying this on repeat...that speaks more to a flaw with the Jazz than it does Rubio honestly.

Rubio/Hood/Gordon/Ingles/Gobert...Rubio/Gordon/Joe/Ingles/Gobert

Those will both be very good imo.

I also think a Favors/Gobert lineup will still work. Rubio just isn't as bad as you make him out to be. Minny got rid of him because he doesn't make sense on that team. I disagree that it is the same. Also, you don't need 4 shooters. Rubio/3 shooters/Gobert...that will be a good offense. But if it is Rubio/Hood/Gordon/Ingles or JJ/Gobert...that has the potential to be awesome on both ends.

Look above for the CARMELO ratings/projections.

Worked best with 4 shooters around Rudy.

Okay...and a worse Rubio played a ton of minutes with Pek/Brewer back in 2014 iirc and had a very good offense.

That team had no shooting at all outside of Love and Martin.

You make it sound like the Jazz had an elite offense last year or something. Were they even top 10?
