Default Are Gobert and Snyder the main reason Hayward left?

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/ru...were-too-nice/

“We’ve got guys that compete, but some of us don’t compete,” Gobert said, via ESPN’s Tim MacMahon. “Some of us just think about scoring. That’s what it is. Coach keeps repeating it: We’ve just got to compete. We’re too nice. Those guys, we know they’re going to get calls. We’ve just got to come out aggressive and ready to fight.”

Is Hayward the one that's "too nice?"

Don't let his clean cut white boy image fool you. Hayward is still an American and Gobert is still a frenchie.

Well considering this is what Hayward said in his "Thank You, Utah" piece:

Quote:
I think about Coach Snyder, who, our first conversation, when we met for dinner after he was hired — we didn’t even talk basketball once. Not a single word. It was just life … and family … and who we were as individuals. As a coach, Coach Snyder is incredible in every aspect of the game. His leadership, his unique ability to motivate, and his insane attention to detail are such special qualities that I will miss so much. There’s a lot of people I have to thank for where I am today as a basketball player, but honestly none more than Coach Snyder.

I don't think Snyder had anything to do with it.

Gobert definitely needs to pipe down. He yapped too much for someone that finally just arrived. You're not a seasoned vet, stfu and do your job and play defense and catch lobs. You aren't the leader.

Just arrived two and half years ago! He's definitely their leader now. Hayward certainly hadn't been leading them anywhere when Rudy emerged two years ago. One of the worst teams in the league as they were two seasons ago when he was hurt.

Agreed.

I don't think Hayward liked Gobert talking like he was the man in Utah.

I read plenty of quotes from Gobert and he shitted on his teammates very often. That is not a leader. Especially if he's gonna miss his share of playoff games.

One of the reasons definitely, maybe even one of the biggest reasons. But there was good coaching around him.

Let's see how Gobert does this year now that he's chased everyone off the team

He didn't chase anyone off the team. He was there to pitch to Hayward. Hill was offered 4/80 and turned it down because his agent told him he could get the max. He didn't get it both because of hubris and because the Jazz didn't have time to wait for him to realize his agent had his head up his butt.

They should have waited for him. Best fit. Goodbye Hayward!
