Nothing wrong with tipping in general. Its stupid when its mandatory and the workers are being underpaid, so you are obligated to tip (overpay) regardless if you are truly happy with the service or not.

Damn what a deal.

And to think we offered him 4/48 just last year and he declined

Roberson is the best wing defender in the NBA these days. If he could actually shoot he'd be worth 25+ million a year and we couldn't afford him anyways, so whatever

In France, they automatically include the tip with the meal. It could even be considered rude in some countries like Japan.

I tip because It’s the norm, but I don’t hate on anyone who chooses not to. They already get paid to bring you food, and if there was an option to pick up your own order directly from the kitchen, I would take it every time in a casual setting. Yes their wages are lower than minimum wage, but the restaurants are required to raise that in the event that the wage+tips you already receive don’t add up to minimum wage. If they don’t like it, they can quit and find a real job while Stalker can take their spot and finally support his family.

Tips shouldnt even be mandatory. That 10% thing is beyond dumb. I shouldnt be pressured into tipping if i think the waiter did a shitty job.

Lol at this thread turning into a tipping debate. I'll just add to it anyway.

For the bolded, where's the logic behind this? Someone shouldnt eat out at a restaurant if they can't or are cheap or just choose not to tip? Why do people tell others how to spend their money. Yes waiters/waitresses are underpaid but that isn't the customers fault. It shouldn't be forced upon, if someone wants to tip because they want to, so be it. If waiters/waitresses and any other underpaid service workers got paid minimum wage, no one would even be talking about this tipping culture. People would just do it if they wanted to.

Correct. The prices reflect their wages.

I've never worked in the food industry but yes, I believe if you don't want to tip then go to the grocery story and make your own meal.

So he tipped $13. I don't know the details, but let's say he bought some expensive ass drinks. So they only had to mix a couple of drinks, you want someone making $100 on 2 mins work?

I didn't know the full story before I commented

If it was just a couple drinks then he's fine. Although when you sign a 30 million dollar contract maybe throw the dude $100
