Kinda wish he joined the Spurs... could've fit well and get a shot at a ring.

Meh.

Wasting his last year on a lottery team.

What exactly is Sacramento's plan with all these vets? I don't get it.

Nah, we need youth and athleticism. We have enough dinosaurs with Manu, Parker and Gasol.

What is the driving force of the Kings for such a deal?

So, they want to fight for the 8th seed in the stacked western conference?

When they actually should rebuild and play the young guns?

Why? Seriously, what's a title do for him?

Pointed out earlier in this thread, he probably doesn't care about a ring, since it really does nothing for his "legacy". He is what he is. He's smart enough to know that and doesn't need false gratification from internet fgts to make him feel better. He plays for the love of the game and money. He's legitly enlightened.

The rebuild foundation is there. 10 players under 24, 9 are 1st rounders, 6 of those 1st rounders are under 22. They should play the young guns, yeah, but the young guns need some leadership and guidance on how to win, how to prepare, how to refine their skills, etc.

Chances are, only Hill gets anything close to 30mpg. ZBo probably doesn't start. VC may start, but he'll probably get just 20-25mpg.

All 3 of these vets are amazing locker room guys.

ZBo leading Skal and WCS and PapaG to play like big dogs down below? Hill guiding Fox on how to be a PG leader of an NBA team? VC just doing VC? Sounds pretty awesome to me. It's a no-lose situation really. If they still suck, their pick is good. If they actually make #8 or get a late lottery pick, by some miracle, the young players are more motivated to get better and make a push to be great at a younger age. Utah did the same approach last season, Minnesota is doing it now - adding vets to a young core. It makes sense once that young core is pretty much set.

They propably will suck regardless. Can't fault them for trying to win games.
But me personally, I would rather take the Philly approach and throw the season, develop young players and get a top-3 pick.
Building a "winning culture" is overblown when you get a crappy draft pick at the end of the day.
But yeah, it's hard to sell that kind of product to your fanbase.

money is still more important to him at this stage of his career. he's not a ring chaser; he's a cash chaser.

he'll be working for ESPN after this season anyway.
