Should the Lakers be trying to pursue Allen Iverson?
They obviously could have an equal, if not better offer than what the front runner, Boston, is offering. A backcourt of Bryant and AI would be unstoppable. AI has proven he could run the point and he would be outstanding in the triangle. Why would they not pursue Iverson?
Besides.. AI brings nothing to the table that we need. He shoots and scores alot.. got kobe.. he can create his own shot.. got numba eight.. plus he is a player who enjoys being the focal point of the team er.... i think we most surely, have someone who fits that description..
If the lakers are going to make a big move, AI would be the wrong piece for this puzzle..
The fact of the matter is that Iverson scores as much as he does because he feels he needs to. He has never hada second option. He was originally a point guard coming out of college and he didnt move to the 2 until Larry Brown put him there. He averaged 30+ along with 7 assists last year and had plenty of double doubles. Besides, with the triangle, you need a point who can shoot, move fast, and score easily. I think he and Kobe would be able to coexist because at this stage AI just wants to win. Also, Kobe said in an interview recently in Philly that he would LOVE to have AI on the team, so he would probably compromise as well. Not everyone is as selfish as people like to make them. We are talking about veterans here who have accomplished plenty as individuals and now they just wanna win.

Its WAYYYYYYYY to expensive a gamble... sorry, I dont agree.
Iverson would have a hard time learning the offense, he can't shoot and he would struggle because he is the same type of player like kobe and lamar who need the ball to be effective, picture iverson trying to play without the ball.

NO one in the public says that I dont want this guy on my team...its PR thing....no one would make enemys in public by saying anything stupid....so just relax....we dont know the inside stuff........obivisoly its kobe's team....and he needs one more side-kick.
Kobe and AI have mutual respect for each other. That's all there is to it.
I wouldn't want him because I believe AI would be too restricted if he played for the Lakers. He needs to find a place where he would have the ball in his hands and make plays for himself and his teammates.
Philly should trade Chris Webber, not AI. Webber is the problem in Philly. Rebounding, defense, he hurts the Sixers in both of those areas. Philly is weak defensively and on the boards.

Well Iverson is expensive but at least he makes really Big contributions.
Odom makes alot too but he isnt even as half as good as Iverson is.
I am not sure of their salaries match up but if philly was just trying to GET RID of iverson then maybe they could take Odom with 1 more player to be named later and Iverson would be as good as ours.

I believe Iverson will make over $17M this coming season... as I said before, WAYYYYY to expensive for a gigantic gamble. I am not questioning AI's abilities or heart. He's got game.
He just does not fit into ths situation, plain and simple.
