Default 2017/18 NCAA Discussion

Season is about 3 weeks away, Coaches Poll came out today, Media Days have been completed, practices have begun.

Pre Poll:
1. Alabama (49 first-place votes)
2. Ohio State (5)
3. Florida State (4)
4. Southern California
5. Clemson (7)
6. Penn State
7. Washington
8. Oklahoma
9. Michigan
10. Wisconsin
11. Oklahoma State
12. LSU
13. Auburn
14. Stanford
15. Georgia
16. Florida
17. Louisville
18. Miami
19. Kansas State
20. West Virginia
21. South Florida
22. Virginia Tech
23. Texas
24. Tennessee
25. Utah

Top 25 by Conference:
SEC: 6
ACC: 5
Big 12: 5
Pac-12: 4
B1G: 4
AAC: 1

Of course, of all polls, the preseason one is the one that may hold the least water of any, but still fun to discuss. Hilarious how Arizona got more votes than UCLA did, and was shocked that SC didn't get any #1 votes. Clemson getting as many #1 votes was also a shock.

It's hard to get excited for UCLA. The only consistency they've showed under Jim Moron Jr. is consistently underperfomring.

Some of the storylines I'm interested in this season...

Taggart moves to Oregon, Strong takes his place at South Florida and Herman is the new boss of the longhorns. Looking forward to seeing how this shakes out.

Is Colorado building something or did they catch lightning in a bottle last season? I don't know anyone who expected that.

What will LSU look like on offense? Do the returning players remember the sting and embarrassment of losing to Wisconsin last year? BYU isn't Wisconsin, but they aren't a cupcake either.

The fact that they got a much better fit at OC that will try to utilize Rosen correctly is excitement enough for me. Still don't know why they hired a guy that wanted to run power football with a weak O-Line, a slinging QB and speed backs. That was just, weird.

Got my Pac-12 Prediction Up.

Week 0 was fun, with Colorado St. debuting their new on-campus stadium with a rape over Oregon State, Stanford's domination in Australia, South Florida recovering from an abysmal 16-0 first quarter deficit. BYU's close win over Portland St. was shocking though.

Some good Week 1 games though, Michigan v Florida, UCLA v aTm, Florida St v Bama, BYU v LSU, Washington @ Rutgers .

Kentucky is gonna win 9 games this year. Book it.

I doubt it but if I continue to say it at the beginning of every season, maybe one year they'll surprise me.

Buckeyes play in a couple hours. Can't wait to see what jt and the offense looks like with the new coordinator.

That's a good point, but boosters and alumnus are the ones to blame. They made a stink about "only" winning 8 games in Rosen's freshman year and drove Mazzone out of town.

Baker ****ing Mayfield. Heisman.

Bob Stoops retiring was a blessing. I've wanted him gone for years. He lacked intensity. Lincoln is a young firecracker and an offensive genius

Yeah, and our young receivers look pretty good. O-line looks insane, probably the best in college football. Adams looks explosive and good too... Damn I'm excited about this team.

We'll see how good they really are next week. Big game Riley?

USC is losing & potential #1 overall pick Sam Darnold seems like he is having a bad game vs weak competition.

I'm still not sure of what I saw last night. Is that Bama front this good or was the FSU line that bad. Not discredting Bama, they showed out... but, I'm leaning towards FSU's line being a real problem that's going to keep them from recovering from this loss to pull themselves back into the title picture.

Dang.

UCLA getting smoked. Rosen finding it too late. This game is out of reach.
