With Dan Gilbert in charge there I still feel like theres a 35-40pct chance he never retires LBJ's jersey just to spite him

And bump that up to 50pct if he leaves to the Lakers

dont act like its guaranteed

The Cavs treated Kyrie much more like family even after his trade request because they understood how LeBron's game and social media-esque behavior can alienate his teammates from a credit perspective

Cleveland above anything loves being the center of the basketball universe, considering that they are small town Cleveland. They'll take satan on their team if he wins them a chip, doesn't necessarily mean the front office is in love with him like his stans are.

You're a complete ****ing imbecile. There is ZERO chance Lebron's number isn't retired in Cleveland.

Do u not realize ur cutting each career in half for each jersey retirement and treating it like a seperate career?

Dirk 98-07: 18ppg, 8rpg, 2apg
Dirk 07-17: 22ppg, 6.5rpg, 2apg

Theres a chance neither of those careers are retired numbers as Lakers tbh, especially when you consider those numbers were compiled over only a 9yr span

Bill Russell? Irrelevant. Played in a league that hardly resembles NBA basketball.

Hakeem?

First 9 seasons of 24ppg, 12.5rpg, 2apg will definitely, and 8 more seasons of similar numbers with a moderate drop off for Hakeem would qualify him statistically although the only thing stopping him from getting two numbers put up is team succcess (as a Laker). Two rings probably doesn't get two jerseys put up in Staples.

Reggie Miller? ***** please

^^^ and dont forget, each of Kobe's seperate title laden statistically great jersey careers are top 10-12 players all time each at worst.

Retiring his jersey numbers isn't about his stats, it's about how long he played for the franchise.

#8 Kobe with 0 MVP's & FMVP's is absolutely not a top 10 player of all time Even factoring in his entire career he's still a fringe top 10 player

Nope. 24 is the LCM(least common multiple) of 8 and 12, so Kobe is 12th all time.

#8 Kobe is realistically 10-15, #24 Kobe is realistically 7-11 all time

Nope. #8 Kobe is 21-25, and #24 Kobe is the consensus #12.

Kobe with just the first half of his career isn't a top 10-15 all time. GTFO with that nonsense. He's not even a top 10 player with his whole career, but is top 10-15 with just his first half? Hilarious. This is why you kobe stans are considered the dumbest fans in sports history.

I remember ISH had an all-time voting poll back in 2007, Kobe was ranked #24. This was already after he put up 2 x scoring titles, before it can be even worse than that. Also ISH back in 2007 had a lot more serious and reputable users, it aint near as trollish as it is now.

Tell me 12-15 guys who had a better career than this, even considering Kobe did all this in under a decade

3 titles (LBJ territory)
4 time All NBA first team, 4 time second team
4 time All Defensive 1st team
25/6/5avgs
8 time all star
2 scoring titles
1 all star mvp
81pt game
36ppg single season average
Countless sick nasty highlights and deep playoff runs with clutch moments in the biggest of stages

Sorry but that right there is AT WORST a top 12 OAT player

Either name me 13 players with better career than Kobe#8 or gtfo

How many FMVPs and MVPs in that span??

You need at least 2 of each to make the Top 10

There were 23 such players, according to ISH back in Oct 2007:
