Wow, the money line for game 1 is -360 (so if you bet 100 on the Spurs to win game one with no point spread, and they lose, you pay 360). So if you wanted to use my hedge, you'd absolutely need the Spurs to win game one.
The biggest the odds got that I remember for Miami were 10-1 to win the championship, but this was during the season. Detroit was a HUGE favorite to win the East and the solid favorite to win the title. Some people tried to say they coudl get 72 wins, remember that? I'm not sure what the odds were in the finals, but my guess would be +250 or so before it started, hopefully somebody remembers for sure. I only bet on individual games last year in the ECF and Finals.
Yeah, I assumed that. It's all done via credit card then?
Anyone want to give me some examples of the good sites?
yep...
I would advise staying away though...if you start off on a win streak it could lead to you thinking you know how to beat the system and now you have an addiction....it is addictive as hell and can ruin your life...
DON"I'm betting on the Spurs for the series. $35,000. They will win cause I'm smart and you're not."
What happened to "Calling on DON". Like DON said before, his intelligence is almost always right. They predicted the San Antonio Spurs to win the championship before this all started. And that will happen. As for the East. DON's intuition said from the beggining the Detroit Pistons were not going to make it to the Finals. DON's intuition is 90% correct. DON 1st picked the Bulls to beat them, they didn't. Then DON picked the Cavaliers to beat the Pistons unlike most, they did beat Detroit.
San Antonio Spurs are a lock for winning the championship. Whatever amount you put on the Spurs, thats how much money you will get back. That doesn't mean put unlimited amounts of money because nothing in life is 100%. Don said the same thing about putting money on the Spurs when they went up against the Jazz. If you want to get rich soon, put as much money as you can on San Antonio. Don't even think about the losing side because it won't happen.
everyone thinks they can figure out how to win at gambling...
it is impossible...you can not make a living betting on sports
Sure you can. There's plenty of bookmakers, from local amatuers to online outposts, to Vegas sports books that do just fine betting on sports. And there's more then a few professional gamblers who make a fine living.
For game one, the Spurs are -360. So if you bet 100 and lose, you lose 360.
Just for clarification, the general way to look at it is not so much the how much would you win if you bet a 1000, but how much you'd lose if you bet 100.
If the Spurs were a 4-1 favorite, and you called a bookmaker and said "I want 4000 on the Spurs" and they won, you'd get 4000 from him, not 1000. But if they lost, he'd be expecting 12000, not 4000. It'd be an unfortunate mistake to make.
When you got to an odds site, it usually looks something like this:
Road Team (Assumed Underdog) +something
Home Team (Assumed Favorite) -whatever
The Something and Whatever are considered in $100 units. So for every 100 on the dog you win +something. For every 100 on the favorite, you lose
-whatever.
