24 easily.

8 was a ballhog. He was also a cardboard cutout, the ARod of basketball. Completely unlikeable.

I think that after the rape trial Kobe just said "fukc it" and stopped acting like a cartoon character and started being his jerkass self. That made him more likeable. He also became a better team player.

Nah they weren't getting past the Mavs assuming they made it that far.

24

Smarter, better (but still not good enough) team player. But he had every move in the book and then some. The best ever? Far from that. The best scorer ever? Close but no. But entertaining as hell.

8 was a flame throwing dynamo from 3 and had some of the best in-game dunks of the era.

Why not? It's not like the Mavs never dropped a series as the top favorite, like the following year against the Warriors. Kobe routinely decimated that team and Odom was in his prime. They had a good chance imo.

Everything changed of course, after that Tim Thomas 3 with Kwame Brown closing out in the Suns series.

He routinely decimated the Suns those years too and still lost. It's not about what he can do individually, the Lakers had neither the defense or overall firepower to keep up with Phoenix and the same would have been true of Dallas that year.

but bro... they were literally 1 shot away from eliminating the suns in 6. So they defintiely had enough to keep up with them... one shot and they wouldve won. Those mavs teams also lost to wade plus mediocre help and an 8 seed warriors team with all the same players...they were far from unbeatable.

24 cause he was fully into Nike by then and his shoes were way better. 8 was the most fun to watch though.
