They might be exciting, but they won't win 50. Prime J-Kidd doesn't win 50 with this team, much less rookie Lonzo...

He's also much better than Lonzo will ever be.

Lonzo shot a total of 11 pull-up midrange J's in college. He has no J off the PnR either.

Kidd is the best comparison for what Lonzo's ceiling might be.

Kidd isn't a good comparison in my opinion. He is an old school kinda guard known for his defense and his passing plus he wasn't a great shooter at first.

Lonzo is the new school prototypical PG for this era.

He has size and athleticism, can shoot the 3 anytime and anywhere, can push the break, and has elite vision.

His midrange is improving and he has added a nice floater over the summer as well.

50+ wins sounds near impossible, and I know that's just Lavar being Lavar. The Lakers are going to be putting on a show next year and hopefully they will play some defense which will allow them to get in a lot of close games and get some experience for this young team with a nice collection of talent: Lonzo, KCP, Ingram, Randle, Lopez, Clarkson, Nance, Zubak and Kuzma led by a future great coach, Luke Walton.

If Westbrook couldn't get the Thunder to 50 wins averaging a 30 point triple double, why in the hell would Lonzo be able to do that with the Lakers?

Can someone just shut Lavar up already?

It wouldn't be lonzo in the first place, it'd be Ingram. He's the best player on this team. The way the organization and fans have just given this team to lonzo is disrespectful to him. He's going to be end up being the better player.

You're describing J-Kidd.

Both guys were large point guards (Lonzo is 6'6" and Kidd was 6'4", but Kidd was stronger/sturdier).

Both guys were known for elite vision and pushing the fastbreak. Kidd got tons of rebounds (from his size, athleticism, and IQ), then turned them into transition buckets.

Neither guy is a good 1-on-1 scorer. Neither has a good pull-up J. Kidd was an elite defender, but Lonzo may be a good spot-up 3 point shooter. The problem is, if Lonzo is spotting up for 3's, that means he's not handling the ball and setting other's up. If he's at the top of his game, he won't have a lot of opportunities to shoot open 3's.

By the time he was in his prime, Kidd was a good spot-up 3 point shooter. His %'s don't look good because he'd take pull-up 3's off the PnR, which were low % shots for him.
